The overall outlook for the region is positive mainly driven by road and infrastructure investments aimed at connecting far flung regions with the relatively more developed regions. This is the case for China, Vietnam and India. Long term projects with the greatest potential include the expansion of the Asia Highway network which plans to connect the countries in Southeast Asia towards China and a portion of key Central Asian economies. A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2. Overview
of Project :
Statue of Unity is a colossal statue of Indian statesman
and independence activist Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The statue is located in the state of Gujarat, India.
It is the world's tallest statue with a height of (597 ft.)
182 meter's.
It is located on a river facing the Sardar Sarovar
Dam on the river Narmada.
3. The project was first announced in 2010 and the
construction of the statue started in October
2013 by Larsen & Toubro, with a total
construction cost of Rs 2,989 crores.
It was designed by Indian sculptor Ram V.
Sutar, and was inaugurated by Indian Prime
Minister Narendra Modi on 31 October 2018,
the 143rd anniversary of Patel's birth
4. Cost
&
Time
Analysis
Beginning date : 31 October 2013
Completion date : 30 October 2018
Opening date : 31 October 2018
It took 57 months to complete – 15 months for
planning, 40 months for construction and 2
months for handing over by the consortium.
The total cost of the project was estimated to be
about ₹2,063 crores (equivalent to ₹27 billion or
US$370 million in 2019) by the government.
5. Cost
&
Time
Analysis
• Indian infrastructure company Larsen & Toubro won the
contract on 27 October 2014 for its lowest bid of ₹2,989
crore (equivalent to ₹38 billion or US$540 million in 2019) for
the design, construction and maintenance.
• They commenced the construction on 31 October 2014.
• In the first phase of the project, ₹1,347 crore were for the main
statue, ₹235 crore for the exhibition hall and convention center,
₹83 crore for the bridge connecting the memorial to the
mainland and ₹657 crore for the maintenance of the structure for
15 years after its completion. The Sadhu Bet hillock was
flattened from 70 to 55 meter's to lay the foundation
6. Revenue
Calculation
from
performance
within 1 year
(2018-2019)
1. Union tourism minister KJ Alphons informed the house
(Lok Sabha) that the “revenue generated from visitors to
Statue of Unity from November 2018 to January 2019 is
Rs.19.47 crore,” and “the number of tourists who
visited the Statue of Unity at Kevadia in three months
from November, 2018 to January, 2019 was 7,81,349
2. The Statue of Unity has generated a revenue of ₹52.9
crores during a 9-month period from November 2018 to
July 29, 2019 , the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd.
(SSNNL) told BOOM in a response to an RTI query.
7. Return
On
Investment
Return on investment by referring above slide for 1
year is approximately Rs.80 Crore by app.30 lakh
visitors.
Return on investment by considering same Rs. 80 crore
for next years from that years required to break of our
investment return is app.38 years.
But in fact 38 years are not still sufficient because of
many reasons like maintenance(after bid maintenance),
floods, dieses & in first year there is curiosity in
tourists so numbers of tourists are more as years go
number of visitors decreased.
So it take app. More that 38 years to break investment
return or in case happen at all it will not cover his
investment return.
8. Inflation
Percentage of return on investment = (80 crore /3000 crore)*100
of statue of unity
% of R.O.I. on statue of unity =2.7 %
India’s inflation rate is 5.00% and our saving account inflation
rate is 6.00%
If any return on investment is less than inflation then that thing is
in loss. so like this in case of statue of unity “R.O.I.< Inflation”
that project is in loss in terms of money.
9. Success
Or
Failure
Like the coin every thing has two sides success or failure
Success:
The statue of unity has got successful by increasing the Nations
Pride to be a home of worlds largest statue of height 182 meters.
Due statue of unity has created many new jobs related to
tourisms.
Failure:
The statue of unity has got failure because :
1. The rate on return of investment of statue of unity is less than
India's inflation rate
2.The statue of unity will take more years to recover the return on
investment
3. In first year there were curiosity in people about statue of unity
hence numbers visitors are more after they becomes average or less
But after Apr. 38 years it will clear that how much the statue of
unity is successful or failure in terms of money…..
