BABYBE is developing a soft robotic solution called Babybe that aims to provide premature babies the feeling of their mother's touch inside an incubator. Babybe collects a mother's biosignals like heartbeat and breathing and uses pneumatic actuation to replicate these signals through a bionic mattress inside the incubator. This allows the mother to feel like she is caring for her baby from the first minute. Babybe seeks to reduce hospital stays for premature babies and improve their development by providing this maternal connection, at a lower cost than existing NICU camera solutions. Initial medical trials have been conducted in China and Chile with further plans to expand to markets in Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
