Media hosts specialize in hosting and delivering media–like audio files. They have the right infrastructure to make sure things go smoothly. Libsyn is one of the oldest and most famous podcast hosting platforms. This is where big names have chosen to host their shows. The question is, should you also join them? Libsyn has been in business since 2004. You’re able to sign up for as little as $5 a month. There are also tiers from $15 to $75, they cater to any kind of podcaster. But, for advanced stats they charge $20 monthly. That seems quite high to me. I paid $120 monthly for 5 shows on Yogi's Podcast Network. I switched to Simplecast and paid $60 monthly. I feel strongly that Simplecast is the best deal on the market right now and would highly recommend them.

The Seven Steps to Kickstarting a Successful PodcastNapierPR
Discover the seven steps to kickstarting a successful and sustainable podcast in the B2B sector. We cover how to build your strategy, how to pick the right topic and format that works for you. As well as how to market your podcast successfully.
A podcast is a digital audio or video program that is made available for streaming or download over the internet. It is typically episodic in nature, with new episodes released on a regular basis, such as weekly or monthly. Podcasts cover a wide range of topics, including news, entertainment, education, storytelling, interviews, and more.
Key features of podcasts:
Subscription-based: Listeners can subscribe to podcasts through various platforms, such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and others. Subscribing to a podcast allows listeners to automatically receive new episodes as they are released.
On-demand content: Unlike traditional radio or television programs, podcasts offer on-demand access to content, allowing listeners to choose when and where they want to listen. This flexibility enables listeners to consume podcasts at their own convenience, whether it's during their daily commute, workout, or downtime.
Diverse formats: Podcasts come in various formats, including solo monologues, interviews, panel discussions, storytelling, documentaries, and more. This diversity of formats allows podcast creators to explore different styles and approaches to storytelling and content delivery.
Accessibility: Podcasts are accessible to anyone with an internet connection and a compatible device, such as a smartphone, tablet, computer, or smart speaker. Listeners can stream podcasts directly from podcasting platforms or download episodes for offline listening.
Global reach: Podcasts have a global audience, allowing creators to reach listeners from around the world. With millions of podcasts available on a wide range of topics, listeners have access to a wealth of content catering to their interests and preferences.
Overall, podcasts offer a convenient and engaging way for listeners to discover, consume, and share audio and video content on a wide range of topics. Whether it's learning something new, staying informed, or being entertained, podcasts provide a unique platform for creators to connect with audiences and share their stories, ideas, and perspectives.
Getting started with audio: Podcasting for beginners - Zalina Alvi (BookNet C...BookNet Canada
This workshop is for anyone who has been thinking about starting a podcast but is unsure where to start or even if it’s a good idea for your organization’s audience and objectives. Using BookNet Canada’s monthly podcast (now in its fifth season) as a case study, we’ll discuss: the opportunities presented by podcasting for marketing books and authors (especially audiobooks); decisions you’ll have to make around format, hardware, software, workflow, distribution, and building a team; common pitfalls and success stories; finding an audience for your new podcast; and how to do it all with little or no budget. For those interested, time will be allotted for a crash course in sound editing and sample files will be provided so you can experiment at your leisure or share with colleagues.

Creating good content isn't always easy, and after a decade as a blogger, I found myself dreading the blogging process. In Expanding Your Blog into a Podcast, I will share the process of how I created a successful, brand-focused podcast using the tools and skills that I learned through creating content as a blogger. Podcasting is one of the most powerful marketing tools for brands who are looking to connect with influencers. In this session, I will discuss the benefits of creating a brand-strategy for your podcast, using the proper tools to implement and manage consistency, and how to position your podcast as an influential brand to appeal to advertisers. Attendees will learn about the technicalities of starting a podcast: from research and ideation to implementation. They will also learn how to create and implement brand strategy to grow any podcast, and how to monetize a podcast without being the biggest in your niche by using collaboration.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
