The STaR Chart measures progress towards Texas technology goals, reviewing data from teacher surveys. It evaluates four areas: Teaching and Learning, Educator Preparation, Leadership/Administration, and Infrastructure. Schools use the data to determine professional development needs, document information, decide funding, and conceptualize a technology vision. SLAS results from 2006-2009 showed annual progress in all areas, from early stages to developing. Suggestions include taking ownership, developing professionally, sharing knowledge, maintaining equipment, using resources, and working towards a shared vision.
