God sees their repentance and decides not to destroy the city, showing his desire for all people to repent and be saved.

Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem for the census but found no room at the inns. They stayed in a stable where Jesus was born and laid in a manger among the animals. The stable provided shelter for the holy family on the important night that Jesus Christ, God in human form, was born on earth to show people how to live as God's children.
To mary came gabriel
The angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and told her she would conceive and give birth to a son named Jesus. Gabriel said Jesus would be called the Son of God and would reign forever. Mary was initially confused because she was a virgin but Gabriel explained the Holy Spirit would come upon her and empower her to conceive. Mary accepted God's will and said "Let it be according to your word."

- 3. Introduction Do you remember the previous lesson and verse? “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:37) Do you know a story of a hero from the bible or saint? What is the meaning of Philopater? The Lover of God Why does he have two swords?
- 4. Philopater= Lover of God Marcorious was born in Rome from 2 good Christian parents: Noah and Safena They were kind people who took care of the poor and celebrated the angels esp. archangel Michael. Marcorious was a nice body and very polite. He learned the Bible very well and followed and loved our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 5. Submissive to God He loved God very much and obeyed Him. Marcorious became a soldier in the army when he was only 17 years old. He was courageous and strong. So he became a leader in the army very quickly.
- 6. Those who are with us are more than those who are against us. One day Emperor Desius, a pagan, saw the berbers coming against Rome to fight, and the Emperor was terrified. St. Marcorious was a soldier in the army and told the Emperor: “Do not be afraid , because God will destroy our enemies and will bring us victory.” The Emperor asked his army to go and fight the enemy. He went to war as the Emperor asked.
- 7. The sword of Light During the war the angel of the Lord appeared to St. Marcorious dressed in white cloth and full of light. The angel had a sword of light with him in his hand. The angel gave him the sword of light and told St. Marcorious: “ Do not be afraid, God has sent me to help lead you to victory.” “When you overcome your enemies, remember the Lord your God.”
- 8. 2 swords? St. Marcorious took the sword from the angel. Now he has 2 swords: the one he was carrying to go to war the second one that the angel gave to him. This gave him strength and power and he was able to win the war against the enemy.
- 10. Victory They won a great victory and the Emperor was very happy with him and gave him medals and great honor.
- 11. Memory Verse “He who overcomes shall be clothed with white garments” (Revelation 3:5)
- 12. Conclusion God always helps and protects his children. He sometimes sends His angels to help people and save his children from harm. St. Marcorious loved God and God also loved him and sent His angel to help him win the war.
- 13. Applications Search the bible for a similar story of how God sends His angels to help his children or how saints use the strength of the Lord to get Victory!
