St. Peter was originally called Simon and was a fisherman from Bethsaida. He was one of Jesus' twelve apostles and showed great leadership as the head of the early Christian church. St. Peter demonstrated courage by being crucified upside down out of respect for Jesus, and was loyal to Jesus throughout his life and ministry.
