Good Friday is observed in Singapore to commemorate Jesus Christ's crucifixion and death. It is one of two Christian public holidays in Singapore, along with Christmas Day. According to Christian faith, Jesus was the son of God who began preaching around his 30s before being betrayed and arrested. He was tried before Pontius Pilate and crucified on a cross on a Friday, which is now known as Good Friday. Christians believe he resurrected three days later, which is celebrated as Easter Sunday.
