This document summarizes the evolution of mobile network technologies from 2G to 4G. It discusses the transition from early mobile networks focused on voice (GSM, 2G) to newer standards enabling mobile internet access and data (3G, 4G). Key points include:
- 2G provided basic voice and small screen data, while 3G added higher speeds and capabilities like video calling
- 4G networks like LTE provide the fastest speeds for mobile internet access to date, with peak downlink speeds over 1 Gbps
- As speeds and capabilities increased, the number of mobile broadband subscribers grew while fixed lines declined, showing a shift to wireless connectivity
Fixed Broadband Business Case - Short VersionAndre Fourie
The revenue that can be generated by an LTE base station is influenced by the quality of the signal received by the customer premise equipment (CPE). Most CPE come with omni-directional indoor antennas, but have provision for the connection to external antennas.
Substituting the indoor antennas for directional outdoor antennas has a marked effect on the data transfer speeds of the network. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, outdoor antennas are physically larger than their indoor counterparts and thus have a higher gain. The increase in antenna gain translates directly to an increase in received signal strength. The second advantage is that the outdoor antenna sits in an environment that has much better propagating properties than the indoor antenna. Tests have shown that data speeds 3-5 times faster are possible using external antennas compared to indoor antennas.
It is shown, using a primitive financial model that fairly large financial gains can be made by equipping CPE devices with external antennas. The summary financial effects below are well backed up by real life case studies and theory which interested readers can read in the remainder of this document.
Carlos Lopez Blanco of Telefonica discusses a re-evaluation of "convergence" which has promised much but delivered little. Broadband must be seen as the key provision in convergence whilst policymakers need to overcome real challenges including a consistent enforcement of net neutrality principles, a strengthening of consumer trust and control and an alignment of international policy in data privacy and processing.
This slide pack gives an overview of what initiatives CSP/Telco's need to address to take advantage of Digital Transformation and next wave of Disruptive technologies to gain Customer confidence and improve Customer Experience using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning approach.

Creating a mobile enterprise application business case.DMI
Enterprise mobility is one of the most exciting opportunities within the workplace these days because of all the change management opportunities it provides organizations. There is a real paradigm shift occurring in terms of how organizations are looking at their business processes and how they can change – really CHANGE – them with mobile enterprise applications.
This 3 part series will guide you and your enterprise through:
1. Developing an actionable mobile enterprise application
strategy
2. Creating a mobile enterprise application business case
3. Choosing the right Mobile Enterprise Application Platform
(MEAP) partner
Building carrier-class LTE networks is a complex undertaking and the initial planning stage, where the business case is defined and the budget is allocated, is critical for setting a solid foundation for the success of the initiative.
During this webinar, participants will learn a holistic, iterative approach to developing business cases for LTE Networks. Participants will also get exposure to various tools available as well as best practices used in network planning.

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.
