KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 Fostered a high quality operational framework within the PCYC Branches across Far North and North West Queensland
 Managed the challenge of working across two diverse business models [i.e. Indigenous and Mainstream PCYC Branches]
and in particular the disparity in operations with intensive work required around maintenance of funding streams
principally responsible for driving the Indigenous Branch operations
 Cultivated strong working relationships and acted as the medium between the branches and the State Office operational
units to ensure corporate governance processes are effectively applied
 Monitored and ensured all business and program development opportunities are acted upon to ensure the financial
viability of the branch operations allowing for quality service delivery to their respective communities
 Provided financial analysis of branch operations and reported monthly and quarterly to the Executive on branch position
identifying opportunities or threats that impact upon the financial viability, including WHS and potential branch exposure
ACHIEVEMENTS:
 Profit Maximisation for the Mt Isa Branch / Operational Success / Funding and Sponsorship - Through intensive support
extended to the Mt Isa Branch addressing key operational areas such as HR, facility maintenance, program delivery, branch
profitability was increased by 80% situating this branch in the best financial position it has rated over the past 10 years .
I successfully built a high performing talent pool capable of delivering the desired outcomes; addressed the deficient areas
of branch operations; sourced the necessary funding applications and associated sponsorship to address critical facility
maintenance issues; focussed on provision of community programs; and maximised the opportunities for income through
effective relationship management with the key income source for the branch via the School Age Care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 Assumed full strategic, operational and management responsibilities of the Mornington Is, Yarrabah, Palm Island locations
and played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Doomadgee PCYC in 2011
 Identified multiple funding sources, submitted the relevant tenders and managed the contracts through to completion
 Managed the process of delivering program funding outcomes as per contractual obligations through to audit to finalise the
funding accountability process
 Established extensive networks across the government, community, philanthropic and corporate sectors to support
ongoing funding allocation to the Indigenous PCYC operations
 Addressed increased challenges associated with operating a multi-disciplinary service model within very remote Indigenous
locations with a high Indigenous workforce
ACHIEVEMENTS:
 Senior Level Negotiations - Due to the extra demands associated with supporting Indigenous PCYC Branch operations I
successfully negotiated with the QPCYWA Board of Directors for the establishment of a specialist position to address the
Indigenous Community Development arm of the Company. The result being the establishment of the State Indigenous
Programs & Services Manager position within the company.
 Multiple Funding Projects / Negotiations - I successfully negotiated in excess of $5 million of funding across forty-nine [49]
various grant streams sourced through tiers of Government, philanthropic and corporate sector to drive the operations
across the four [4] Indigenous PCYC Branches.

EL1 Palm Island PCYC Project Officer |Queensland Police Citizens Youth Welfare Association 2004 – 2005
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Managed the establishment of PCYC operations within the Palm Island Community over a period of six [6] months
 Identified and acted upon funding opportunities through to negotiation of funding contracts
 Supported the core operation of the branch and identified new opportunities with both State and Commonwealth
government streams
 Networked the PCYC operations within the Palm Community and invested government agencies
 Established branch operations through resource/equipment purchasing, employment and training of branch staff,
development of branch procedures and activities program
ACHIEVEMENTS:
 Operational Management / Funding - I successfully negotiated $900k of operational funding from various State and
Commonwealth Government streams to support the operational platform of Palm Island PCYC. I established branch
operations in partnership with Government partners and the installed Branch Manager in a very challenging environment
due to the increased political agitation within the local community.
Community Partnership Coordinator – CQ / NQ |Queensland Police Citizens Youth Welfare Association 2000 – 2004
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Provided operational support to seven [7] PCYC Branches through community networking, delivering targeted training,
programs and funding submission development to support PCYC Branch operations
 Transferred to the NQ Zone within a year where I actively supported ten [10] PCYC Branches in rural and remote locations
inclusive of Indigenous Communities
 Managed multiple vocational and training projects including the consultation with key stakeholders funding submissions,
HRM, coordination of training delivery, project management inclusive of budget and progress reporting through to final
acquittal process
 Managed the challenges of project delivery due to the often rural/remote nature of their locations which spanned across
Rockhampton, Townsville, Mt Isa, Cloncurry, Innisfail and Yarrabah.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
 Operational / Key Stakeholder Relationship Management - In-line with a major QR corporate sponsorship arrangement
[2000-2004] I successfully managed five [5] vocational and training projects funded under the Department of Employment
and Training’s ‘Community Jobs Plan Project’.
Each project represented a collective funding investment up to $400k requiring complimentary funding to be sourced from
various streams to support project delivery.
A collective total of 55 young people were afforded employment and training opportunities through these projects with a
70% success rate achieved that resulted in project participants transitioning into meaningful employment or further
training as an outcome.
Children’s & Women’s Support Worker |Rockhampton Women’s Shelter 1994 – 2000
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Provided counselling support, information and referrals in partnership with various relative support agencies to ensure that
the needs of the ‘child witnesses to domestic violence’ were being adequately addressed
 Undertook key roles in providing information and intensive support primarily to children [5-15] and their mother’s whilst
they resided within the shelter
 Provided intensive support primarily to children [5-15] and their mother’s beyond their stay at the shelter and supported
their integration back into their community
 Undertook intensive work with mothers to support their parenting skills and understanding of the ‘child’s needs’ during the
time of crisis
 Provided targeted activities for the family unit and supported referrals to further assist their circumstance
ACHIEVEMENTS:
 Co-authored “It’s not your fault” This Domestic Violence Education Kit targeting 6-12 year olds schools children - In
response to the children I supported through my role at the shelter, I developed a targeted educational program targeting
primary school children.
The program addressed the misconceptions of Domestic Violence and provided valuable education around identification of
domestic violence in the home. The kit also served as useful tool-box for getting help.
I linked this program into ten [10] local schools presenting it at each school. This program was nationally published and was
presented by myself at a national conference on Domestic Violence.

Zone Development Manager – FNQ / NWQ / IPCYC |Queensland Police Citizens Youth Welfare Association 2010 – 2012 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  Fostered a high quality operational framework within the PCYC Branches across Far North and North West Queensland  Managed the challenge of working across two diverse business models [i.e. Indigenous and Mainstream PCYC Branches] and in particular the disparity in operations with intensive work required around maintenance of funding streams principally responsible for driving the Indigenous Branch operations  Cultivated strong working relationships and acted as the medium between the branches and the State Office operational units to ensure corporate governance processes are effectively applied  Monitored and ensured all business and program development opportunities are acted upon to ensure the financial viability of the branch operations allowing for quality service delivery to their respective communities  Provided financial analysis of branch operations and reported monthly and quarterly to the Executive on branch position identifying opportunities or threats that impact upon the financial viability, including WHS and potential branch exposure ACHIEVEMENTS:  Profit Maximisation for the Mt Isa Branch / Operational Success / Funding and Sponsorship - Through intensive support extended to the Mt Isa Branch addressing key operational areas such as HR, facility maintenance, program delivery, branch profitability was increased by 80% situating this branch in the best financial position it has rated over the past 10 years . I successfully built a high performing talent pool capable of delivering the desired outcomes; addressed the deficient areas of branch operations; sourced the necessary funding applications and associated sponsorship to address critical facility maintenance issues; focussed on provision of community programs; and maximised the opportunities for income through effective relationship management with the key income source for the branch via the School Age Care. State Indigenous Programs & Services Manager |Queensland Police Citizens Youth Welfare Association 2005 – 2010 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  Assumed full strategic, operational and management responsibilities of the Mornington Is, Yarrabah, Palm Island locations and played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Doomadgee PCYC in 2011  Identified multiple funding sources, submitted the relevant tenders and managed the contracts through to completion  Managed the process of delivering program funding outcomes as per contractual obligations through to audit to finalise the funding accountability process  Established extensive networks across the government, community, philanthropic and corporate sectors to support ongoing funding allocation to the Indigenous PCYC operations  Addressed increased challenges associated with operating a multi-disciplinary service model within very remote Indigenous locations with a high Indigenous workforce ACHIEVEMENTS:  Senior Level Negotiations - Due to the extra demands associated with supporting Indigenous PCYC Branch operations I successfully negotiated with the QPCYWA Board of Directors for the establishment of a specialist position to address the Indigenous Community Development arm of the Company. The result being the establishment of the State Indigenous Programs & Services Manager position within the company.  Multiple Funding Projects / Negotiations - I successfully negotiated in excess of $5 million of funding across forty-nine [49] various grant streams sourced through tiers of Government, philanthropic and corporate sector to drive the operations across the four [4] Indigenous PCYC Branches.

C o n f i d e n t i a l R e s u m e P a g e | 3 EL1 Palm Island PCYC Project Officer |Queensland Police Citizens Youth Welfare Association 2004 – 2005 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Managed the establishment of PCYC operations within the Palm Island Community over a period of six [6] months  Identified and acted upon funding opportunities through to negotiation of funding contracts  Supported the core operation of the branch and identified new opportunities with both State and Commonwealth government streams  Networked the PCYC operations within the Palm Community and invested government agencies  Established branch operations through resource/equipment purchasing, employment and training of branch staff, development of branch procedures and activities program ACHIEVEMENTS:  Operational Management / Funding - I successfully negotiated $900k of operational funding from various State and Commonwealth Government streams to support the operational platform of Palm Island PCYC. I established branch operations in partnership with Government partners and the installed Branch Manager in a very challenging environment due to the increased political agitation within the local community. Community Partnership Coordinator – CQ / NQ |Queensland Police Citizens Youth Welfare Association 2000 – 2004 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Provided operational support to seven [7] PCYC Branches through community networking, delivering targeted training, programs and funding submission development to support PCYC Branch operations  Transferred to the NQ Zone within a year where I actively supported ten [10] PCYC Branches in rural and remote locations inclusive of Indigenous Communities  Managed multiple vocational and training projects including the consultation with key stakeholders funding submissions, HRM, coordination of training delivery, project management inclusive of budget and progress reporting through to final acquittal process  Managed the challenges of project delivery due to the often rural/remote nature of their locations which spanned across Rockhampton, Townsville, Mt Isa, Cloncurry, Innisfail and Yarrabah. ACHIEVEMENTS:  Operational / Key Stakeholder Relationship Management - In-line with a major QR corporate sponsorship arrangement [2000-2004] I successfully managed five [5] vocational and training projects funded under the Department of Employment and Training’s ‘Community Jobs Plan Project’. Each project represented a collective funding investment up to $400k requiring complimentary funding to be sourced from various streams to support project delivery. A collective total of 55 young people were afforded employment and training opportunities through these projects with a 70% success rate achieved that resulted in project participants transitioning into meaningful employment or further training as an outcome. Children’s & Women’s Support Worker |Rockhampton Women’s Shelter 1994 – 2000 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Provided counselling support, information and referrals in partnership with various relative support agencies to ensure that the needs of the ‘child witnesses to domestic violence’ were being adequately addressed  Undertook key roles in providing information and intensive support primarily to children [5-15] and their mother’s whilst they resided within the shelter  Provided intensive support primarily to children [5-15] and their mother’s beyond their stay at the shelter and supported their integration back into their community  Undertook intensive work with mothers to support their parenting skills and understanding of the ‘child’s needs’ during the time of crisis  Provided targeted activities for the family unit and supported referrals to further assist their circumstance ACHIEVEMENTS:  Co-authored “It’s not your fault” This Domestic Violence Education Kit targeting 6-12 year olds schools children - In response to the children I supported through my role at the shelter, I developed a targeted educational program targeting primary school children. The program addressed the misconceptions of Domestic Violence and provided valuable education around identification of domestic violence in the home. The kit also served as useful tool-box for getting help. I linked this program into ten [10] local schools presenting it at each school. This program was nationally published and was presented by myself at a national conference on Domestic Violence.
