Let’s get scientific… Definition: a birth defect that results from a mistake early in the development of the spinal cord  Symptoms: bulging spinal cord, hydrocephalus (build up of fluid inside the brain), paralysis in lower back and legs, bladder and bowel malfunction, loss of sensation, and/or mental impairment. Long Term Effects/ Impacts of Disabilities As   I said before, Spina Bifida is a chronic condition, therefore it can’t be cured, only treated.
