The document provides initial thoughts from four people - Amit, Bavique, Alhasan, and Zainul - on potential opening sequences for a teen film. Amit proposes an opening involving a criminal infiltrating a school for cocaine. Bavique suggests an opening about a football player who faints on the pitch due to steroid use. Alhasan's idea shows a typical teen walking to school where his friends later discover he is homosexual. Zainul's opening involves a head teacher selling drugs to students in the school parking lot. The document then discusses using stereotypes, an age rating of 15, humor, social issues, and settings to appeal to teenagers.
2. Amit’s Initial Thoughts…
AMIT PATEL
Opening Sequence
- My opening sequence idea revolves around the plot
of a high end criminal, infiltrating the school for a
ransom of cocaine. In the opening sequence there will
be cross cutting between the school and the criminal.
- At the start of the opening sequence he will be
sitting in his office with a mountain of cocaine on his
desk. As we are following his movements and actions.
As he prepares for his operation on the school to
invade it and take everyone hostage for cocaine.
- Oh and the head teacher of the school is a drug lord
(The reason why the school was taken hostage)
3. Bavique’s Initial Thoughts
BAVIQUE GERAGE
Opening Sequence
- Young teen Football player steps into the limelight for
the first time after working very hard to get to the top.
At this stage we’ll have a photo-montage of all his
obstacles he had to get through & also credits will be
rolled here (Inspired from the FIFA 06 intro) and is
awaken with the loud chanting of the crowd with a
nervous expression on his face.
- During the 75th minute he faints on the pitch due to the
heavy dose of steroids he took before the match. He is
later banned by the Football board, and we see him a
lonely dark room with his football shoes regretting his
mistake. Screen blanks out at this stage….
4. Alhasan’s Initial Thoughts
ALHASAN JAAFAR
Opening Sequence
- As were making an opening sequence I’m thinking of a
typical teen walking to school. As he approaches the
school he sees his friends. The camera will then rotate
to his friends with a freeze frame introducing the
character and other important people of the movie.
- Later in the movie his friends will find out that he is
homosexual and things turn out bad. He decides to
suicide…
5. Zain’s Initial Thoughts
ZAINUL AWEES
Opening Sequence
- Head-teacher selling drugs to student in the school
car-park. We see head-teacher handing out drugs to
students. At this point we see 1 student being handed
out drugs, 3 students from far see this little incident
happen
- The 3 children keep on witnessing this little incident.
Finally pluck up the courage to call police. The police
come into school and solve the problem.
6. TEEN CONVENTIONS
STEREOTYPE TEENAGERS
What Conventions Are We Going
To Be Breaking?
DRUGS
We plan only breaking one of the
CRIME
teen conventions which is the
RELATIONSHIP
typical high school head-teacher.
Instead we will be making the
head-teacher used in our opening
sequence more mischievous.
7. AGE RATING
15 CERTIFIED
We have gone with the 15
age rating as our opening
sequences contain a lot of
drug scenes. Also 15 is a
age we can include crude
humour. However if we
chose the 12 rating we
would be quite
restricted, so we have
opted for the 15.
8. WILL IT APPEAL?
HUMOUR STEREOTYPES SETTING
What teenager doesn’t We are going to We are going to be using
like a laugh or a giggle, including a lot of a school setting making
so we are going to be stereotypes within our it a typical teenager
including some movie, which our setting and where our
15+ viewers are familiar
humorous scenes within. viewers can relate to
with.
SOCIAL ISSUES
We are going to be
covering social issues
which our intended
target audience can
relate too.
