This document provides information about the tools students need to be successful at South Texas College. It outlines JagNet, which is the student portal used to access services like course registration, degree planning, and the online learning system Blackboard. It describes how to activate a JagNet account, register for classes by entering course reference numbers, and use DegreeWorks to view degree requirements and track academic progress. DegreeWorks and Blackboard are also accessed through JagNet.
3. Jagnet
Upon successful admittance into South Texas College, you will receive an e-mail
congratulating you into the college and will provide you with your Jagnet username
and A Number.
Your Jagnet account is the portal that gives you access to monitor your
student progress in Degreeworks, Register for Classes and login to
Blackboard to participate in your college classes.
It is important to memorize both your A Number and your Jagnet Username
and password.
First Time Jagnet Users will need

4. Registering for a College Course
To register for a College Course you will need to login to your Jagnet account.
Clicking the Registration
Icon will give you access
to Add or Drop Courses in
your Student Apps.

After meeting with a HS Counselor or Advisor, you should have access
to CRNs (Course Reference Numbers) that are specific to the class
section you are registering for.
Login to Jagnet
Click on the Registration Icon
Click on Register for Classes
Select a Term
Select the “Enter CRNs” tab
Click “Add Another CRN” to add multiple courses at the same time
Select “Add to Summary” after you’ve entered all CRNs
Review your Summary and click SUBMIT to complete registration
5. Degreeworks
Degreeworks is your web-based academic advising tool that will
help you successfully navigate your degree plan requirements.
Degreeworks can be accessed through your Jagnet account.

Allows direct access to multiple related services
and advice through hyperlinks to catalog
information, class schedules, and FAQs
9. Degreeworks
o View your Courses Outside of Declared Major
South Texas College does not recommend registering for courses
outside your selected major. Enrolling in courses outside major may
cause a delay in completion.

10. Blackboard
Blackboard is your virtual learning environment that gives you
access to your college professors’ syllabus, assignments, discussion
boards and more.
Blackboard can be accessed through your Jagnet account.
