This document provides guidelines for safe driving and operation of vehicles in a mine. It outlines various rules including:
- Only authorized personnel are allowed to operate vehicles.
- Speed limits of 30 km/hr maximum and 10 km/hr when dumping must be followed. Heavy vehicles have right of way over light vehicles.
- Vehicles must be parked safely and parking brakes applied. When parked on a slope, wheels must be blocked and steering turned.
- Overtaking is only permitted when visibility is good and speeds can be maintained.
- Drivers must conduct pre-operation vehicle checks, drive safely, follow signs and report any issues. Proper procedures must be followed for loading,

Forklifts can be dangerous: they account for 25% of injuries at work. Many workplace accidents involve people being hit or run over by forklift trucks (typically when the forklift is reversing)because the driver did not see them. Owing to their size and weight, injuries resulting from forklifts are generally very serious. Accidents involving them are often caused by poor supervision and a lack of training. The following forklift safety tips will help you and those you work with stay safe around forklifts. Thanks to the Health and Safety Authority.
Proper forklift training is important for avoiding property damage, injury, or even death. But - are your trainers passing along the right knowledge when it comes to safety? Trainers who will be training your forklift operators are essentially the last line of defense in stopping untrained or unskilled operators from operating a forklift. This course trains the trainer, making sure safety remains a cornerstone of your operations.
Attendees who complete this training will receive certification and will be able to train and certify other operators to OSHA standard.

Search Engine Marketing - A Business PerspectiveHans Riemer
A management approach to SEO or Search Engine Optimization.
When it comes to SEO, there's no shortage of information on what to do and how to do it. Some of it is quite good, while other information is out of date or flat-out wrong. This presentation, delivered at the North-By-North-Shore conference near Boston in June, 2013, focuses on the overall strategy and issues that senior management must address to be successful with Search Marketing.
Rewarding is a neuroscientific principle that plays into human decision making. Rewards lead to positive memories and emotions associated with a particular relationship. As opposed to discounting, which has a
short lifespan of memory impact and can erode a brand’s value, creating a method for conditioning members for positive behaviors will generate long-term positive impressions and preserve the association brand’s value.

Road Safety-Basic Rules Of The Road
With new vehicles coming out each day and lot of new drivers behind the wheel. Road safety plays an vital role. So follow Road Safety-Basic Rules Of the Road.
It is imperative that we get back to the basics and make sure we are following the rules. Make sure everyone else we know following the rules.
No exceptions-if you area behind the wheel of a car or riding two wheeler. You have to know and follow the rules.
Rules and regulations regarding motor vehicle is more or less similar in some aspects. But it varies from country to country.
There may be similarities in some rules and regulations. But all should follow applicable rules and regulation of their residing country where they are present physically.
Here are some basic rules which shall follow in India as below. Might be some of them are same in different regions. Below details is solely for information purpose only.
Please go through authorized department for exact rules and regulation of your country.
Keep Left:
Drive as close to the left side of the road and allow all traffic going in the opposite direction to pass on the right hand side.
Turning Left:
When needing to turn onto a road on the left, stay close to the left side of the road and after making the turn continue on the left side of the road. (Do not cut across lanes from the right side of the road and then turn left).
Turning Right:
When turning onto a road on the right side, first approach the center of the road as safely as possible and then turn to the right and stay on the left side of the road.
Passing:
If there is a need to pass traffic proceeding in the same direction, always pass/overtake them on their right side. The only exception to this would be the case where a vehicle that is trying to turn to the right (and has indicated their intention to turn right) is occupying the center lane and therefore requires passing them on the left side.
Passing Prohibited:
Overtaking/passing a vehicle proceeding in the same direction is prohibited in the following scenarios:
The passing/overtaking would cause inconvenience or danger to any vehicle proceeding in any direction.
On bends/curves in the road or on hills or there are other obstructions present that prevents a clear view of the road ahead.
If the driver behind the current vehicle has already start to overtake the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle in front has not yet give signal that he may overtake.
( Please Note: The solid lines paint on the middle of the road indicate prohibition of passing for as long as the line is a solid line- you will notice them on bridges, curves and where visibility of the road ahead is not present. Overtaking when safe to do so if line changes to a dashed line.)
When being Passed/Overtaken by another vehicle:
The driver should not speed up or do anything to prevent the other vehicle from passing.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

PTO when tipper is in
motion.
• Do not drive away till
body settles down
completely on sub
frame.
36. Safe parking
Vehicles
should be
parked on
firm and
level ground,
preferably in
a dedicated
parking
area.
No vehicle
should be left
unattended
unless the
parking brakes
have been
firmly applied,
the engine has
been switched
off, the starter
key has been
removed.
Make sure
keys are never
left in an
unattended
vehicle and are
securely stored
when vehicles
are parked in
workplaces
overnight, at
weekends or
for long
periods.
39. To help avoid
overturns when
driving on a slope,
drivers should do
the following:
Never reverse the
tipper on any slope.
Never turn across a
slope while already
on it.
It is usually better to
drive forward down the
slope rather than
diagonally, to maintain
the stability of the
vehicle.
Never drive a tipper
diagonally down a
slope.
Keep speed to a
minimum on slopes.
41. Tipping vehicle
overturns can be
caused by
Poorly
maintained
tipping vehicles
Poorly trained
operators
Imbalanced
loads making
vehicles unstable
Uneven tipping
surfaces putting
a vehicle off
balance, or
unsuitable
ground
Vehicles
reversing too far
Turning with a
raised body
Striking
overhead
obstructions
The body in
tipped condition
does not come
into contact with
any overhead
electric wires.
42. Drivers should
never use
the ‘power
take-off’
(PTO), which
shifts power
to the tipping
pump if the
vehicle is in
gear;
not leave the
control
position
when raising
or lowering
the body and
not apply
straps to
hold controls
in position;
be able to
tell when the
body is fully
tipped and
stop the
tipping pump
as soon as
possible
before
releasing the
tipping gear;
43. Drivers should
drive a few
metres forward
to make sure
the load is
clear, after
checking that
the load is at
the bottom of
the tipped
body. If they
have to leave
the cab to carry
out this check,
they should
fully apply the
brakes, turn off
the engine and
(if possible)
remove the
keys;
never
stand or
walk
immediatel
y behind
the vehicle
when the
body is
raised
during
tipping;
never go
beneath a
tipped
tipper
unless it
has been
securely
propped
with a
suitable
body prop;
never jump
out of a
tipper that
is falling
over.
