Sophia had her first Christmas in the United States with her aunt, uncle, and two cousins. She enjoyed playing in the snow with her cousins and helping her aunt prepare a delicious Christmas dinner of turkey, potatoes, cake, cookies, and pie. On Christmas day, Sophia found her stocking filled with sweets and a big present under the tree, making it the best Christmas she had ever experienced.

1. Sophia's Special Christmas
Hello my name is Sophia I am
very happy because for the
first time in my life I left my
country Costa Rica to spend
Christmas in the United States
with my aunt Emilia, my uncle Bob and my two cousins Michael and
Jonathan.
My vacations were terrific. The snow
was falling softly from the sky and
my cousins Jonathan and Michael
played with me outside the house.
We made a snowman and threw snow
balls it was really funny.
Christmas in the United
States is different from
Costa Rica. I liked to see
the decorated houses
with colored lights, bright
ornaments, stars, Santas,
reindeers and snowmen.

2. I helped my aunt Emilia to
prepare Christmas
dinner. We cooked
turkey, potatoes,
cake, cookies, pie,
and eggnog. It was
delicious. In my
country we usually eat
“tamales” for Christmas.
After Christmas dinner we hung up
some stockings with our names on
the fire place because Santa was
going to fill them with gifts. In
Costa Rica the one bringing the gifts
is the “Niñito Dios” not Santa Claus.
Christmas′ day I got up very early in the
morning and my stocking was full with
sweets. Under the Christmas tree there
was a big present for me. I had the best
Christmas I′ve ever had. It was special I
would never forget it.
