Here are some little-known facts about the Mona Lisa
Caravaggio was one of the most extraordinary characters in the history of art. He was the prototype of the turbulent Bohemian artist, his explosive personality helping to obscure the traditional elements of his paintings. His dramatic use of light and shade and uncompromising realism creating a new pictorial vocabulary for European art. From c1599 he drew on High Renaissance and even antique models, with his decorum defying realism. His influence was indeed greatest on artists in areas of Flemish artistic ascendancy. It is almost impossible to overestimate the influence of Caravaggio.
He was not only the most powerful and influential Italian painter of the 17C, but also one of the prototypes of the idea of the artist as a rebel outside the normal conventions of society, punctuated by disputes with patrons about his unconventional treatment of religious themes. Caravaggio was one of the few real revolutionaries who really changed the history of painting. His aggressively realistic and dramatically lit paintings swept away the remains of the late Renaissance Mannerist style. He marked the beginning of the Baroque painting. Fiercely original Caravaggio had left us a basket of rotting fruits and an aging Madonna that no artist had followed.
Leonardo's painting - Who is Mona Lisa ver 2.0Jerry Daperro
Leonardo was born in or near the town of Vinci, about half way between Florence and Pisa, on 15 April 1452. He was the illegitimate son of a rising Florentine legal official Ser Piero da Vinci. He was good at drawing and was enrolled with the leading Florentine artist of Verrocchio in 1469, at the age of 17. Leonardo was probably the greatest artists of the Renaissance. His studies were strictly based in the scientific methods, on vigorous analysis and on objective reasoning. But it was his inquisitive mind that drove the man forever forward to understand our place in nature. According to art historian Helen Gardner, the scope and depth of his interests were without precedent in recorded history. Apart from portraits, religious themes and historical paintings, Leonardo’s greatest legacies were his notebooks and drawings. He influenced many of his contemporary artists, including Michelangelo Raphael, Giorgione and Bramante. Yet he always had a deep distrust of human society. “Alone you are all yourself.”
Our past has always been a storehouse of inspiration.
It is no secret that fashion always repeats itself. An increasing interest in vintage fashion indicates that fashion trends always come back.

The Mona Lisa
Introduction
Paintings are one of the oldest forms of art. It is a known fact that before photography, radio or motion pictures that led to the invention of the television and today’s new technology emphasized by the internet, paintings dominated the creativity and social centre of art. Painting is the transfer of mental pictures onto canvas, so that these images can be shared with the rest of the world (Kalogridis, 2011). Like other forms of art like music and dance, painting needs skill, practice and is most needing in terms of patience. However, paintings share a deeper message that other forms of art seem to miss out due to their self explanatory nature and deep hidden messages (Leonardo, 2010).
The Mona Lisa Painting
The Mona Lisa is one such painting that has centuries to its existence yet remains a household name and a portrait to marvel about worldwide. The artist behind the drawing of the Mona Lisa is Leonardo da Vinci who despite being a brilliant painter had a series of other talents such as engineering, architect, craftsman and even a botanist. Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian who lived in Florence at the time of his drawing this magnificent portrait which for a long time preferred to keep to himself showing that he had some sentimental attachment to it (Sassoon & Leonardo, 2006). The Mona Lisa is an oil painting with an ancient oak wood frame, what is most intriguing about it are the feature in its composition such as the strokes that bring out various colors and the pyramids behind the main subject of the drawing which is a woman seated upright with her hands held together. Leonardo worked on this piece of painting between the years 1503-1506 but was fully completed in 1519. Today, the Mona Lisa is found in France Musee de Louvre museum in Paris (Kalogridis, 2011).
The Mona Lisa painting depicts a woman who is cool and collected, upright and staring right at her painter with a smile. The woman in the drawing is thought to be Francesco Giaconda’s wife, Lisa Giaconda (Leonardo, 2010). What I like about the picture is the story that this woman and the painter were supposed lovers a factor that enhanced her composure and relaxed nature. Also there is the issue of the smile that tells an instinctive story to the observer that the painter and the woman know something that other doesn’t a form of secret (Leonardo, 2010). Interestingly while the woman uses body language to intensify the meaning behind her portrait, the painter does a remarkable job using fine strokes that show care, passion mastery and concentration.
What I like about the Mona Lisa Painting
What captures the audience most in this composition is the light usage where light is behind and evenly distributed to the subject, showing an investment of time by the painter and a factor that draws me even closer to this portrait (Sassoon & Leonardo, 2006). Being a student of art, I look up to suc.

Museums often receive donations from diverse sources. These reasons behind these donations tends to be different from one individual to another. According to some data, there are three significant reasons why millennials donate to museums. First, some value personal collections. Such individuals donate since they like what a museum works toward and stands for. Second, cultural organizations "might not be meeting the millennial generation where they are". Most millennials are on digital platforms and donating to museums is their way of reaching out to cultural organizations.
Finally, museums are not actively asking the millennials to donate, which makes the latter feel left out and willing to donate. However, despite the reasons given above, that museums ought to have clearer policies on donations compared to what is presently available. Even though the management bodies of museums tend to be aware of the issues and challenges related to donations, the available procedures and policies tend to be insufficiently detailed and out of date.
This causes loopholes that can be manipulated by some other or the museum for selfish gains. Some issues that arise in this case include money laundering and inappropriate donations. Some donations can be done with ill motives. Therefore, museums need to focus on risk management processes, governance, and stakeholder management to ensure they come up with policies that adequately regulate donations. Failure to do so can result in museums receiving donations from diverse with ulterior motives. In turn, this can give such museums bad reputations that can deter good from getting involved with them.
One of the interesting topic to not only for art lovers but also for anyone who has heard about the most famous artwork it’s Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. This painting considered to be the wealthiest paintings in the world because it’s always in the most level, the most written about, sung about, and visited. Mona Lisa backs to Italian renascence and it kept for a long time and till now in the Louvre in Paris. A few months ago, people were upset about what they heard about removing Mona Lisa from the Louvre for particular reasons. It appears that overcrowding is the main reason for removing the painting. After reviewing some Louver research, 80 present of the visitors coming only for watching Mona Lisa, now we have a clear view of how the crowding will look like when hundreds of people in front of the most famous painting. Visitors always continues to increase.
Overcrowding is not only the reason or the problem the Louver is facing but also visitors do not give attention to other works or exhibitions in the museum. All they care about is Mona Lisa and taking selfies with it. Hundreds of people in front of Mona Lisa while other exhibitions are empty. This is the point, of course not all of them are art lovers. What makes this painting is so famous in this way? Maybe because it’s mysterious and has hidden secrets .

Campania was colonized by Ancient Greeks and was part of Magna Graecia. Magna Graecia, meaning Great Greece in Latin, is the name of the coastal areas of Southern Italy on the Tarentine Gulf that were extensively colonized by Greek settlers. The colonists, i.e. the Greeks, who began arriving in the 8th century BC, brought with them their Hellenic cultures, which left a lasting impression on Italy, particularly on the culture of ancient Rome. Some little-known facts about Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa
1. Some little-known facts about Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa
posted Sep 23, 2020, 3:16 AM by Sadigh Gallery
With a rather elementary understanding, a work of art is often recognized and appreciated
for its mere appearance. However, as Sadigh Gallery has experienced in its business,
the work of art becomes even more valuable because of the story that it has to share.
This is true even for the masterpieces. Here are some little-known facts about the Mona Lisa.
1. Being the most famous painting in the world, the Mona Lisa has been quite a favorite reference in
pop culture. With most people having a glimpse of her in movies, most of them who see her in real life
are quite surprised at how smaller she seems compared to pop culture depictions.
2. The Mona Lisa painting actually has many layers. Upon examination with more modern technological
tools, the painting has revealed as much as 30 layers underneath the final product that the world knows
now as the Mona Lisa painting. This technique is credited for allowing Da Vinci to give details and shapes
a hazy quality to create a hint of depth and shadow.
3. None other than Napoleon Bonaparte actually had an infatuation for the Mona Lisa.
The painting remained hanging in his bedroom at the Tuileries Palace for four years in the early 1800s.
Not a few men admired the Mona Lisa the way that Bonaparte did, but what makes Napoleon’s regard for
Mona Lisa more interesting is the fact that he also had an affection for a pretty Italian lass
named Teresa Guadagni, a descendant of Lisa Gherardini. The image of the latter is commonly thought
to be the basis for the Mona Lisa.
It is with being aware of little-known facts such as these that art authorities like Sadigh Gallery
make the rightful claim to being among the best in showcasing the world’s most adored works of art.
