Somalia has Somali and Arabic as its official languages, with Somali dialects divided into Northern, Benadir, and Maay groups. Most Somalis are Muslim, mainly belonging to the Sunni branch of Islam. The country occupies the tip of the Horn of Africa and has terrain consisting mainly of plateaus, plains and highlands. The economy is based on livestock, remittances, and telecommunications, with agriculture as the most important sector.
