For social studies project work, we were assigned to do the
research related to globalisation . after having a serious
discussion with all the group members , we chose the topic
globalisation and gender . we attend to do this topic because
globalisation had effect the gender in many aspects of life.
these global processes gives impacts in many issues in terms
of politic, social, economic , and sexuality. For example,
structure of labour force , participation of both gender in
economic and sexual relationship of women and men.
 Globalisation : the process by which businesses or other
organizations develop international influence or start
operating on an international scale.
 Gender :The state of being male or female (typically used
with the reference to social and cultural differences rather
than biological ones)
 Equality : the state of being equal , in status , rights and
opportunities.
 Masculinisation is to give a masculine appearance or
character to . To cause a female to assume masculine
characteristic , as though hormonal imbalance
 Politic : of or relating to the state, government, the body
politic, public administration, policy-making, of, involved
in, or relating to government policy-making asdistinguished
from administration or law
 Sexuality : capacity for sexual feelings. a person's sexual

the grounds of political, social, and economic
equality to men.Human trafficking : Trafficking in
persons is a serious crime and a grave violation of
human rights. Every year, thousands of men, women
and children fall into the hands of traffickers, in their
own countries and abroad.Heterosexual (of a person)
sexually attracted to people of the opposite
sex.Gender bias : unfair difference in the treatment
of men or women because of their sexIntrahousehold
:
 To know the globalisation impact on the gender in
every aspects.
 To highlight the importance of gender in
globalisation era.
 To discuss about gender equality in both women
and men perspectives
To inculcate knowledge pertaining to
both sexes contribution to the global
community.
The first question arose in our mind
about the reason behind the topic
chosen.
In the past three decades, globalisation trend has affected the
evolution of both sexes especially in social participation. It also
includes political administration and economic sectors . For example,
the past few years have witnessed the potential of women engaged in
business and men as cuisine expertise. Particularly in Malaysia,
this worldwide change is partly due to improvement the level of
education, greater demand of women in the workforce and general
value of societies towards equal opportunities of both females and
males in modern employment. When such scenarios happen in our
society, many issues rise involving both genders. For example, some
men felt unsecure with the roles and status of women held in today's
world. The work conflict also occurs by everyone. All of these issues
related to gender biasness attract us to do the research about it. We
want to know and discuss further the roles or position of both sexes
from our citizens' perspective regardless of gender , age and
profession.
This research was conducted in KLCC garden, an area known to house people of various ages
and ethnicities. The purpose of conducting this survey is to deduce the society’s general
awareness on issues relating to gender and their relationship with globalization. We had
distributed 50 survey forms in total, and conducted this survey based on gender therefore 25
forms were answered equally for both males and females. To portray our survey outcome, we
divided the questions into 4 aspects; Social, Economic, Political and Sexuality.

 In conclusion, we can see how globalisation has the great
potential to contribute to gender equality. This include
many aspects as in political, economic, social and
sexuality. From the surveys ,the changes of gaps in the
equality level of both gender where the effect of
globalization mainly shifting roles and norms towards man
and woman. Obviously the woman’s level going to the
accordance through the time are currently reaching the
level of equal to man and now mostly in many aspect it
already have reached equality .However, large gender gaps
remain in some areas for example in poitical side where
people mostly think men are better to hold the position in
politics especially as a prime minister. Globalization will,
therefore, eventually give rise to more gender equality and
fairness. We hope in the next decade, women and men will
transform their respectives lives to contribute more for the
benefit of the community.
 Throughout our finding for this issue, we faced
some challenges and irregularities in conveying
this issue to the comunity. There are few
limitations that we want to highlight in our
finding:1.Respondents did not want to
participate in survey process2.Some of the public
that we approached did not have a very good
command of English language3.Some
respondents commented that our surveys
questions are not using simple language 4.80% of
respondents did not have any general knowledge
on this issue5.There are few terms that we used
in our survey forms cannot be understand by
some of the respondents
