Are Social Media Websites Harmful To The Youth?Evan Atkinson
This study was done to determine if social media websites negatively affect the youth of America. Many young people in the United States have accounts on social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace and studies have shown that these websites can have negative affects. With so many young people using these social media sites, studies on the negative affects should surely be done. After conducting a survey, and analyzing many secondary academic resources I determined that in fact the youth could be negatively affected by these social media websites. They are negatively affected in many different ways such as them being addictive, and distracting in an academic environment, but also can affect the youth negatively in several other ways. After coming to these conclusions, I am certain that more studies need to be done on this issue, so we can reverse some of the negative aspects of social media websites, and find a way to be able to use them in the best possible way.

Social media to support teaching and learningAcademic Mania
Social media is the mean of social interaction through different techniques and ways. It is the best way of communication between people because everyone has the right and freedom to speak and share anything. Social media includes face book, twitter, my space etc. In simple words it can be said as the network of social sites where people can share their views or anything they want to. Social media includes social networking websites, blogs, video and photo sharing sites like you tube and flicker, user reviews for instance Amazon.com and many more such websites. It creates an environment in which everyone can contribute in the communication it is the best way of exchanging information among people. It creates a virtual framework which enables the people to setup a forum or platform to share information of common interest. . It is available for the whole public and not restricted to few people. It is accessible by the whole public and targets the interest of whole world i.e. every field is touched. It’s a decentralized platform and multi topics are discussed in it. There is even no hierarchy in it. It’s not like the industrial media in which once information has been broad casted cannot be changed. In social media any information can be changed and altered at any time and by anyone with even little knowledge. As anyone can edit this information so it’s not that much authenticated and reliable information as you can get from some industrial media.

Social media has taken the world by storm through dozens of websites, mobile apps, and other forms of technologies improving the way people communicate with each other. There are social media sites that have millions of members allowing them to share photos, videos, text messages, and more on a regular basis. There are a large number of advantages and disadvantages to using such sites that leave researchers wondering if we are better off without it. Has social media improved or damaged the way people connect with each other?

APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH APPROACH
In this research the researcher cannot say that how people is realizing and
implement information which is shared on facebook same time we saw that
may people is talking about the facebook and their problems in this research
the researcher will generalized what is happening in the our society how
many people are affected from the facebook . Quantitative research is
generally associated with the positivist/postpositivist paradigm. It usually
involves collecting and converting data into numerical form so that statistical
calculations can be made and conclusions drawn. And in this approach we use
statistical analysis. In this approach mainly we study no. It is easy to calculate
the mean median mode and standard deviation etc.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This research is a micro level study on some facebook users special who is from
delhi thats why the researcher decided that they have to study facebook users
and their problems and which type content people mostly want on facebook
and how much they relieve on that particular information and what they do. In
every research it is most important that what is the methodology you are going
to use in this research the researcher will use descriptive research
methodology because the researcher wants to describe the current scenario
of the facebook.
7. AREA OF RESEARCH
After long consideration it is decided that he will research in ruler area in any city
where facebook mostly use and which is more convenience for the researcher.
Delhi is most engaged city there is more facebook users and they are facing many
problem on routine basis. That why the research study place will be Delhi.
Because in delhi there are so many people they are belong from different place
and different culture and in delhi may people they are blaming on social sites. In
Delhi the researcher decided that he will study only North Delhi in SANT NAGAR.
POPULATION
After decided place researcher have to decide his study population because his
study is a micro level study so it necessary to his population will be clear the
researcher will study the who is between 22- 30 year old people who is living in
North Delhi. Because in this age period people are on their extremes age some
one studying and some one in working field and they are using facebook on
regular basis it may be they are using their smart phone or by computer system
and some people may using through laptop and may be they are using multi
electronic system in this age they little free from some boundation from their
parents and in this age they are responsible for every field. That’s why he decided
them to study.
SAMPLE
Sample is the representation of population it is selected from population. In
sampling method when we are selecting sample there is equal chance to selected
every individuals.
8. PURPOSIVE SAMPLING METHOD
In this research the researcher has decided that he is going to study in delhi. In
delhi his particular area is north delhi people. But north delhi population is almost
30,000,00.00 it is not possible for me to study them like census. And it is his study
project and he have no sufficient balance for conducting this research on census
basis. That why he decided that he is going to use sampling method in this
research. In this research he is going to use purposive sampling method. In
method we will select them who is using facebook. We are continuous selecting
the sample while we will reach our sample size.
SAMPLE SIZE
In this research researcher is not going to take more sample size according to
his timing schedule. he will collect the minimum sample size. the sample size
will be 33.00 he is going to study 33 people.
Sample Size -: 33 Sample
CHAPTER-4
DATA COLLECTION TOOL & TECHNIQUES
DATA COLLECTION METHOD
In every study it should be clear that how we are going to collect the data. We
should keep in mind our data collection is appropriate according to our project
9. and according to approach, methodology etc. because it is the stage where a
little mistake may make our entire project fail. In this research the researcher
is going to use mail survey. In mail survey we will mail the questionnaire to all
our respondent by help of mail.
IMPORTANT OF MAIL SURVEY
1) In this method we have to no need of man power for colleting the data.
2) In the method response started immediately.
3) In the method the respondent have no pressure about filling the
questionnaire immediately.
4) It is much reliable method.
5) It is less expensive method.
6) Easy to collect data.
7) In this method there is no boundary because you can send the form any
where.
WEAKNESS OF MAIL SURVEY
1) In this method research don’t know who is filling the form.
2) in this method some time people check mail after one month after
fifteen days after one week if I am going to conduct a research and I
want response with in one week some response may be we will not
receive on time.
10. DATA COLLECTION TECHNIQUES.
It is most important thing when you are going to collect data you should
decide a appropriate data collection techniques. There are different type of
techniques for data collection in this techniques what is the best techniques
for your research. You should decide it according to your research and
your approach, methodology and data collection method.
In this research the researcher will conduct mail survey so it is necessary to
use to questionnaire for data collection techniques. In this research he is
using questionnaire for data collection. This questionnaire will be send to
respondent for filling and summiting the form. Because in questionnaire we
need educated people for filling the any form the facebook users is
educated and they will fill the form. According to researcher that
questionnaire is the best way to collect the data in this research.
QUESTIONNAIRE
Questionnaire is the tool of data collection. There is two type of
questionnaire one is open end and second is close ended in this research
researcher will use both type of questionnaire.
