Social networking sites have become very popular among teenagers and individuals to connect with friends and share interests. However, social networking also enables cyberbullying, which can lead to depression and even suicide. It also increases the spread of child pornography and makes it easier for thieves to steal personal information by hacking users' accounts. While social networks allow people to stay connected and promote music or businesses, the disadvantages of privacy risks, identity theft, and negative mental health impacts outweigh the advantages of using them.

1. In the modern days social networking site has become the popular sites used by
most teenagers and as well as individuals. A social networking sites such as Facebook,
Myspace and Friendster is used to share similar interest. Whereas social networking
sites such as twitter is used by business people to help advertise their business and
helping other business people. To have a social networking networking sites the users
need to create a public profile within that website that have online. Basically these social
sites are able to post personal information, photograph, videos, and comments. These
social networking sites can be describe as community based website, where users can
form a relationship with others people who have the same network or interest, having
private chat rooms, online discussions forum and other opportunity they have online.
The attractiveness of using social network will keep growing and the population of users
will keep growing anonymously. Although there are a lot of advantages, but in my
opinion, it brings more harm than good.
First of all, the best reason of having a profile on social networking site, it gives
people the chance to stay connected no matter how far they are. This will also help
people to keep themselves up to date with their friends or far families. Therefore, using
a social network also help people to find their old friend. There are some people who
used this network professionally even though they are fine with their career because
they able to help people answer any question that relate to the same career that the
person have. Social site such as MySpace and Facebook, it gives the opportunity to
create an event and invite friends that they want or a group invite, so you don’t actually
have to call each person. Therefore, for people who involved with music industry they
also can promote their albums or music on site like Facebook or MySpace. Music bands
having an upcoming concert can also be informed on the social site which keeps their
fans informed and also people can interact with the artist they like.
Despite the advantages, there is also some disadvantages of having online profile on
social networking sites. Cyber bullying is when a teen get harassed, threatened,
humiliated or embarrassed by using the internet or any digital technologies. Recently
social network has becoming the target. It is devastating for the victim; cyber bullying
can lead to suicide and depression. Social networking site is where they can say thing
but not in person. Online bullies confident that and they can make contact with their
victims anytime, anywhere, day or night, not just in the school. It is clear that social
networking shows cyber bullying is just one of the negative impacts that social
networking site has on society today.
Communicating with people over the internet makes bad contact on our relationship
and at the same time they also can strengthen out week depression we have. The
connection with the people we don’t see also can make our depression strong and also
bring social isolation. People who isolated they may have a fake healthy friendship by
talking or meeting people online. Marriage and carrier life can be ruined by increasing
the number of people using the internet.

2. Child pornography is the most uploaded and shared due to the popularity and the
number of growing in social network. It is also the fastest growing criminal segment on
the internet. People been uploading pictures and videos without noticing that the files
they upload are inappropriate to post on social network. Microsoft Corporation comes
out with a program that can detect and deleted the uploaded picture and video of child
pornography.
People found too many ways to steal, hack or commit fraud online. Social network
has been the main aim for stealing information through different personalities. While
creating a profile in a social site it will ask you to fill in information such as your full
name, location, email account, friends and relationship. This will make the user unaware
and share the information that will harm the user and make the thief to hack the users
account easily.
To sum up, the disadvantages for social networking outweighs the advantages. Even
though the user gets updates all the time, by sharing information online is dangerous.
People needs to be aware and be mindful of what personal information they while
socializing and networking online. There is some lack of piracy and getting bullied on a
network is not a good option. Using a social sites it is suppose to be user friendly not
that people can steal identity.
