2. What is Social Media?
Social Media has grown exponentially in the past 10 years. It went from a fad to
something used in everyday life. It has many different uses and forms. It includes
Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and many more. It has become something that
helps bring people together and feel more connected, especially in our generation.
It’s uncommon for someone in our generation to not use any of these social media
platforms. It has become the normal thing to do now.
3. What’s so Special About it?
You may be wondering why social media has grown so much and why so
many people use it. The answer being, people enjoy posting about themselves and
sharing good memories with the world. They want to show off their best moments
to everyone. It brings people together and when you post something and people
like it, it feels good.
4. Who Uses it the Most?
This is a tough question. I would say my generation uses social media the
most because it’s what we grew up with. We grew up with new technology and
social media evolved along with us. You could also argue that Millennials use it the
most. The reason being not only for personal use, but also for the business aspect
of it. There are many great opportunities for business on social media.
5. How Does it Relate to Business?
Social media creates many opportunities for entrepreneurs. First off, e
commerce. This is basically creating your own business online. Social media is a
great tool for this because you can advertise and grow your business greatly with it.
Take dropshipping(a business where you’re basically the middle man between the
customer and the company, and you advertise a product made by someone else,
then buy it and give the company the customers shipping information) for example.
With dropshipping, you advertise a product on social media in hopes that someone
will see it and buy it impulsively. It may sound ridiculous, but it’s actually been
proven to work for countless people.
6. Business Related to Social Media
Not only are there businesses where you can market and advertise on
social media, but social media in general is also a business. Take Facebook for
example. Mark Zuckerberg has made an insane amount of money off of it. More
and more social media platforms are coming out every year, which goes to show
that this business is growing more than ever.
7. Social Media in the Future
Social media will continue to grow and expand more than we’ve ever
seen. Businesses in the future will revolve around social media and online
advertisements. The internet will always be the future, and it will just continue to
grow to become something even more amazing than we’ve already seen.
Technology is always changing and adapting to society, and this trend will
continue.
8. The Next Generations
Although my generation grew up with new technology like ipod touches
and video game consoles like Xbox and Playstation, the next generation will grow
up with even more advanced technology. This advanced technology that we may
not understand too well, the next generation will understand it quite easily because
they grew up with things that were similar to this new technology. Just like how my
grandparents aren’t very knowledgeable about their phones and other technology,
we will also become like this when we grow older. Thus creating a cycle of new
technology and confused older generations.
9. Summary
In conclusion, social media will only continue to grow and be a big part of our
society. Business will also grow by using social media. Although, in the future,
social media may become too big. As of right now, majority of the population uses
social media. A vast amount of this majority is addicted to it and spends countless
hours a day on it. In the future, I can see this becoming an even bigger problem.
Hopefully, it doesn’t come to this though. Social media is a great way to bring
people together, and I just hope it isn’t ruined because people are too addicted.
