“ so that”,  iki cümleyi birbirine bağlayan bir bağlaçtır. –sın diye, böylece, -ki böylelikle anlamına gelir. Bu işi neden yaptığımızı / yapacağımızı anlatırken kullanırız. Cümlenin amacını belirtir.
She saves her pocket money so that she can buy something (O cep harçlığını biriktiriyor böylece istediğini alabilecek)
I’m going to study hard for my exams so that I’ll pass them easily. (Sınavlarıma sıkı çalışacağım böylece sınavlarımı kolayca geçeceğim)
My mother bought some wool  so that she could knit a jumper. (Annem bir kazak örebilsin diye biraz yün aldı)
My wife rocked the baby  so that she would sleep. (Eşim bebeği uysun diye salladı)
“ In case”,  iki cümleyi bağlayan bir bağlaçtır.  ‘İhtimaline karşılık, olursa, takdirde’ diye anlamı vardır.
He is carrying an umbrella  in case it rains. (Yağmur yağar diye şemsiye taşıyor)
In case you forget, I’ve written it down. (Unutursun diye onu yazmıştım.)
“ In case of”,  in case ile aynı anlama gelir.. Fakat ‘in case’ bağlacından sonra tam cümle gelirken ‘in case of’tan sonra cümle gelmez, isim gelir. “Durumunda” anlamına gelmektedir.
You should keep the windows closed in case of burglary. (Hırsızlık olur diye pencereleri kapalı tutmalısın)
In case of fire your must get a fire extinguisher. (Yangın olma durumuna karşı bir yangın söndürücü almalısın)
Some students carry lots of pencils in case they need them. (Bazı öğrenciler ihtiyaçları olur diye yanlarında bir sürü kalem taşırlar)
My mother always had a glass of water by her bed in case she was thirsty. (Annem susar diye daima yatağının yanında bir bardak su bulundururdu)
