2. WOULD RATHER (NOT) = prefer (not)
Structure:
Would rather (not) + infinitive without ‘to’ + the rest of the sentence :
- She would rather take the train than go by car.
- she would rather not go by car.
HAD BETTER (NOT) = Strong recommendation
Structure:
Had better (not) + infinitive without ‘to’ + the rest of the sentence :
- You had (you´d) better take the train to work.
- You had (you´d) better not drive to work.
