The client for this project was Mind, a charity focused on mental health in the UK. The document summarizer created a lighthearted video to promote Mind in a more approachable way for younger people aged 16-25. Footage was filmed using different cameras to achieve a professional look. Various editing techniques were used in Premiere Pro to convey changes in emotion. Feedback indicated the video met the brief and no major changes were needed. While time management was challenging, the summarizer is happy with the final video and feels it was effective at engaging the target audience.

previousadvertsandpodcastsandthe mainthingI didn’tlike aboutthemwasthat theywere tooformal
and didn’tfeel approachable andrelatable,especiallyforthe youngerdemographicof 16-25 year olds.
For thisreasonI decidedtosubvertthe codesandconventionsthattheyhave establishedintheir
previousworksandmake a more lightheartedandentertainingvideo.
I dida rough planwitha storyboardto sketchout myideashoweverIdon’tthinkthatthe planningstage
of myprojectwas veryessentialbecause Iendedupfilmingalotof scenesthatwere completely
differenttomyplan.Some of mypotential locationswerehardtoget accessto and otherscenesIfeltI
couldgetthe same effectbyshowingasimilaractivity.A lotof the footage Ijustwentout and filmed
and thenlateron reviewedit andpickedwhatIliked.

3. WhenI didmy filmingIusedaCanon camerawiththe settingsat industrystandardlevelsof 1920x1080
at 24fps. I alsousedanothersimilarSonycamerafora few sceneswiththe same settingsjustbecauseI
didn’thave accessto the maincamera at home.Thisallowedme togeta professional qualitylookfor
my videoandbe consistent.Iusedavarietyof camera anglestoshow perspective andalsokeepthe
videovisuallyinteresting.Forsome scenesIhadsomeone holdingthe camerawhichallowedme to
capture a feelingof beingpartof the action.OtherscenesIplacedthe camera ina fixedpositiontogive
a flyon the wall effectandallowthe viewertoempathise withthe character’sthoughtsandemotions.
I editedthe videoonPremiere Proandusedvarioustoolstocreate the desiredeffect,suchasRGB levels
to create contrast betweenblackandwhite andcolourtoshow the change in the characters emotions.I
alsousedcuts and changedthe speedof certainclipstomake the videoflow.Imade a lotof cuts on
actionsand alsocut on certainbeatsof the music.Speakingof music,Iuseda slow andsad songat the
beginningtoreflectthe sadnessthatthe character isfeelingandthencontrastedthiswithafastand
upbeatsongnowthat the character is happy.A technique thatI developedthroughthisprocesswas
usinggreenscreens.BeforeIdidn’tknowhow touse thembut throughexperimentationIwasable to
use thisto great effectinmyopinion.Thisprojecthelpedme tobecome more comfortable withthe
toolsand techniquesof Premiere Pro.

5. I gatheredfeedbackfrompeersandtheyall thoughtitwasgreatand metthe brief perfectlywithno
majorchangesneededsoI decidedthatmyfinal productwasreadyto submit.
Some thingsI foundchallenginginthisprojectwere timemanagementandjustgenerallystayingontop
of things.That’sjustthe kindof personI am at the endof the day but I diduse problemsolving

Overall Iam happywithhowmy videoturnedoutandI thinkitis veryeffective forthe target
demographicbecause itisfunnyandengagingwhilststill conveyingthe intendedmessage.Ialsothink
thishas beena goodopportunityforme todevelopmyskillsforexample correctcameratechniquesand
the thingsthat helpa projecttorun smoothlysuchas time managementandcommunication.If Ihadto
mark my ownworkI wouldmarkmyself downforprofessional practice andinformingideasasmy
researchwasa bitrushedhoweverIthinkIhave showngreattechnical skills.
