Air Commodore (Ret’d) Paddy Teakle
Former Deputy Commander
NATO AEWC Force Command
NATO
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to participate in the 9th annual Air
Mission Planning conference taking place on the 17th and 18th of April
2018 in London.
Governments of every nation regard air power as their most responsive
and flexible instrument of military power. Air power is invariably the first
responder to developing crises. NATO reacted almost immediately to
Russia’s annexation of Crimea and confrontation with Ukraine through air
power and immediate humanitarian assistance to the hurricane struck
Caribbean Islands and Western United States was made possible by
the readiness and responsiveness of air forces. It is almost impossible to
think of a recent crisis where air power has not been at the spearhead.
It can be a significant asymmetric advantage as its inherent strengths
make it agile, adaptable and scalable, but this advantage can only be
leveraged if it’s employment is thoroughly and comprehensively planned.
Therefore there is the need for a high-level meeting that brings together
senior military leadership, project decision makers, and technical experts
alongside cutting edge industry solution providers to collaborate on
future endeavors. This will not only enhance air mission planning but
also empower nations to better prepare themselves in the face of other
global challenges and joint operations.
This conference will explore how best we plan and deliver 21st Century
Air Power.
Once again, I am delighted to lend my support as the chairman of
this conference because I believe that Air Mission Planning is the best
environment for fruitful international collaboration.
I will kindly ask you to pay particular attention to our conference agenda
which was put together with care to give you the very best opportunity
to learn from subject matter experts relating to the enhancement of air
mission planning. This way we will be able to address the existing and
future challenges in the air.
I urge you to join us in April 2018 with many like-minded professionals to ensure
that you can too participate in and benefit from this unique opportunity.
