ACO- 11 Familiarization with Firefighter Duties Under the Airport Emergency P...Brock Jester
An Airport/Community Emergency Plan (A/CEP) should address multiple considerations and hazards at an airport. It should identify all agencies and organizations involved in emergency response, the roles and resources each can provide, and plans for coordinating communications and response. The A/CEP also needs to consider specific emergency scenarios like aircraft accidents, fires, and hazardous materials. Regular training exercises are important so all groups are prepared to fulfill their roles according to the A/CEP in case of an actual emergency at the airport.
In this presentation to the press at the Airbus Trade Media Briefing, Jens Nielsen, Head of Unmanned Aerial Systems, provided an update on June 9,2014. This is the first presentation on UAVs at the Trade Media Briefing with the launch of the restructured Airbus Defense and Space.

Chapter 01 Qualification for Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Personnel Brock Jester
- ARFF personnel have three main priorities - rescue occupants, extinguish fires, and remove debris. They must be highly trained to carry out these time-critical missions.
- The history of ARFF dates back to the early days of aviation and has evolved with developments in aircraft technology. Significant milestones include regulations established during WWII and improvements in response to the advent of commercial jet travel.
- ARFF training programs cover skills like aircraft familiarization, emergency response techniques, and operating specialized vehicles and equipment that are required to effectively respond to airport incidents and crashes.
In this presentation to the press at the Airbus Trade Media Briefing, Phillipe Galland, Head of Transport Services, provided an update on June 10,2014. In this presentation to the press at the Airbus Trade Media Briefing, Antonio Rodriguez Barberan, head of Military Aircraft, provided an update on June 9,2014. This is the first presentation at the Trade Media Briefing after Eurofighter and the UAV programs of Cassidian have been incorporated into the restructured Airbus Defense and Space.
ACO-3 Rescue and Firefighting Personnel SafetyBrock Jester
- Airport firefighters must be trained in using personal protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus to safely perform their jobs. They should understand firefighter safety at the fire station, during response, and on scene.
- ARFF personnel should anticipate hazards to mutual aid firefighters and be well-versed in general aircraft hazards as well as hazards from systems, materials, cargo, and military aircraft. They should also be able to identify and appropriately respond to potential terrorist incidents.
This document discusses managing construction projects at airports. It notes that airports require management of both air transportation operations and large real estate investments and construction projects. Construction at airports tends to be 15-25% more expensive than normal due to various airport-specific factors such as strict airside safety rules and regulations that increase security requirements and complicate logistics for workers and vehicles. Large investments in expansion projects are common as airports must constantly adapt facilities to meet growth, new airline business models, and changing industry needs.

An Invitation to Military Airlift and
Air-to-Air Refuelling 2018
Dear Colleagues,
The appetite for participating at the 19th annual Military Airlift Air-to-
Air Refuelling conference has been so overwhelming that we have
introduced a pre-conference focus day, concentrating on Air-to-Air
Refuelling, while the two following days will address strategic and tactical
airlift as well as humanitarian aid.
The return of Russia to the East as a strategic adversary as well as the
instability to the South and South-East of Europe makes NATO and EU
forces refocus on territorial defence. In addition, European Air Forces are
faced with a tight budgetary situation, costly investment programmes
(fighter replacement, A400M, tankers, etc.), but also shrinking human
resources which makes them concentrate on core business, which is
fighting. Nevertheless, for many there is a transition to new airlift and tanker
aircraft, which implies new challenges.
Therefore, having this yearly SMi Military Airlift Air-to-Air Refuelling
conference bringing together military experts, agencies and organizations
alongside with leading industry solution providers is a must to discuss
how solution can be found to allow the military to innovate and to face
difficulties as well as to continue delivering the required services to the
Armed Forces.
Having attended this SMi conference for the last ten years, I firmly believe
it is the best one held in Europe and the perfect environment for discussion
and networking. Hence, I am honoured to be able to chair it for the fourth
time in a row.
May I ask you to pay particular attention to the conference agenda
which has been put together with great care to give you the very best
opportunity to benchmark and learn from subject matter experts. SMi has
invited the most senior and well-respected Commanders of Air Transport
bases, Heads of Air Mobility organizations and agencies, and this seniority
is a demonstration of the support for this critical meeting. I am looking
forward to meeting you in December in Rome with many other like-
minded individuals to ensure you too can benefit from this unique event.
Yours Sincerely,
Laurent Donnet,
Managing Director,
Avidonn Consulting,
Conference Chairman

Air-to-Air Refuelling Focus Day
09.00 – 18.00 | 3rd December 2018 | Crowne Plaza St Peters Hotel, Rome, Italy
Chaired by Mr Laurent Donnet, Managing Director, Avidonn Consulting
The need to deploy forces on protracted operations has become a
mainstay for defence forces attempting to project global influence.
Whether extending flight time to maximise strike time for combat
aircraft or to enable rapid and flexible deployment of troops and
materiel tanking is now a fundamental competence for all Air Forces.
With this in mind, SMi Group are proud to announce an additional
focused day of content looking exclusively at Air-to-Air Refuelling
within the 19th annual Military Airlift meeting in Rome. Analysing
Automatic Air-to-Air Refuelling (A3), interoperability standards among
allied nations, feedback from operational experience and appraisals
on the next generation of AAR technologies – this forum is set to
provide essential updates on this critical force multiplier.
