Outlook for the day
CNX Nifty futures on the Singapore stock exchange were trading 22 points
up at 8018, indicating a positive opening on the domestic market. Asian
stocks are mostly falling ahead of the Federal Reserve meeting where
policymakers are expected to make a decision on its stimulus programme.
U.S. stocks ended near flat on Monday, pausing after the S&P 500's
biggest weekly gain since January 2013, while energy shares fell with
another decline in oil prices. Ranbaxy Laboratories, Lupin, ING Vysya
Bank, Jubilant Life Sciences, ABB India, Global Offshore, CCL Products and
SRF Limited will announce its quarterly result today. As per provisional
figures, foreign institutional investors (FIIs)/ Foreign Portfolio Investors
(FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 49.14 crore on 27th October 2014.
Domestic institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 9.55 crore on that
day.

Retail sales in Japan spiked 2.3 percent on year in September, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said - worth 11.242 trillion yen. That was
sharply higher than forecasts for an increase of 0.8 percent following the 1.2 percent gain in August.
