This document summarizes a presentation on smart troubleshooting of interconnected devices. It discusses how as devices become more connected and complex, troubleshooting failures is challenging. Research aims to gather error logs from different devices, analyze them to match fixes and instructions. This could help with troubleshooting in smart cities and transportation. The proposed approach would reuse a framework to model dependability and security. It is connected to research on symbiotic autonomous systems and addresses areas like big data, machine learning, and cybersecurity.

4. Towards Smart-Troubleshooting
• Modern highly interconnected devices generate error logs, and when
heterogeneous smart-devices from different vendors fail to communicate and
interact, troubleshooting failures becomes a challenge.
• Novel research aims to find a solution to this problem by gathering error
logs, analyzing them, and matching them with both software fixes and
proper troubleshooting instructions.
• The project is connected to research areas and domains within Smart-Cities,
Internet of Things and People, Automatic Transportation Systems, all
within the aforementioned IEEE Symbiotic Autonomous Systems initiative.
• The research is expected to provide a high industrial impact and societal
value considering the relevant and increasingly critical applications.
• Furthermore, it addresses many current research areas in computer science
and engineering, including big data analytics, machine learning, cloud-fog-
edge computing, semantic modelling, and cyber-security.
