The Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) rejects an invitation to meet with President Ernest Bai Koroma in New York. The SLPP argues that the APC government has failed to address issues of governance, poverty, and corruption. Instead of talks abroad, the SLPP believes the President should engage stakeholders in Sierra Leone to address preventable problems caused by the APC's closed governance over the past three years. Funds for the proposed meeting would be better spent starting a microcredit program for unemployed youth in Sierra Leone.
