Centaurea Cyanus, also known as the Cornflower, is an annual wildflower that produces brilliant blue star-like blossoms. It is commonly found growing as an unwelcome weed in cultivated fields and by roadsides. The dried petals are used in potpourri for their color. Centaurea Cyanus grows to 1 meter tall and prefers well-drained, fertile soil and a sunny position. It can be propagated through seed sowing in the greenhouse in March or directly outdoors in April.
