Skeltrack is an open-source skeleton tracking project developed by Igalia that utilizes the Kinect camera to provide depth information. Unlike existing commercial solutions, Skeltrack offers a shared library that is device-independent and does not rely on pattern matching or databases to identify body joints. The system identifies key extremas on the body by processing depth data and employs algorithms to infer the locations of joints like elbows and hands, aiming to support future enhancements for multi-user tracking and improved accuracy.
