2. •Maritime transport is a decisive infrastructure for the
social and economic development of a nation.
• Ports are one of the primary components of the general
transportation sector.
• A port logistics chain (PLC) and supply chain embraces
all the global logistics chains that operate through a
seaport.
• Paradip Port has a total of 08 nos. of General Cargo
berths. These berths are multipurpose in nature and
generally used by vessels for unloading.

3. Objective of the Study:
 To know the supply chain management on general cargo berth at Paradip Port.
 To know the port operation.
 To study the cargo handling and traffic capacity of Paradip port.
Scope of the Study :-
 To analyze the present efficiency of Paradip Port by thorough study of Material
Handling System, cargo handling equipment, port crafts, transport system, competency
of stevedores, and to recommend measures to be adopted for improving efficiency.
Limitation of the Study:-
 As my project is related only the paradip port so, it is difficult to approach the process
at any other port.

11. CONCLUSION
 The Operational performance of the Paradip Port Trust in the year 2015-
2016 is consistently increase. Comparing with the year of 2014-2015.
 The major supplier of the Paradip Port Trust is Australia, Indonesia,
United Arab and New Zealand.
 The Pilotage service is available to all vessels during 24 hours and 365
days.
 Railway connectivity.

12. RECOMMENDATION
Railway siding should be restructuring.
 To improve the berth day output more number of dumpers and
cranes should be employed to work
 Equipment utilization is very poor both because equipment is
obsolete and poorly maintained. So it should be strongly
maintaining.
 Wagons should be send at right time.
