Shotcrete, also known as gunite or sprayed concrete, is a process where concrete or mortar is pneumatically projected at high velocity onto a surface. There are two main types of shotcrete - dry process and wet process. Dry process involves placing dry ingredients into equipment and adding water at the nozzle, while wet process thoroughly mixes all ingredients including water before projection. Shotcreting proves effective for constructing curved surfaces like domes and tunnels due to its ability to be applied to irregular surfaces. It has increased in use for both new construction and restoration projects.
