2. - Someone finds out that they are living in a different reality, where they can see and
hear everyone around them, but they canât be seen or heard. The watch can
feature on the main characters hand.
- A man looks at his watch and realises the time. So he begins to walk down the
hallway very fast, when the lights begin to flash and a shadowy figures appears.
The shadowy figure then get closer and closer to him.
- Someone goes out for a walk late at night and ends up falling a sleep on a bench,
checking their watch after waking realising itâs early in the morning. Then he says
to himself âThat wasnât supposed to happenâ
- Someone thinks that life is just like a video game, so that person then decides that
they can do whatever they want.
- A new student is shown around the college by an existing student, while the
schoolâs social hierarchy is explained. The entire short film is done in one long
single take.
3. ï§ Starts in a dark room with two young people, one says âthis wasnât supposed to happenâ, then
goes on to hint at what has happened but doesnât say what has actually happened. The clock
can feature either on a wall in one of the scenes or instead one of the actors could be wearing
a watch. Throughout the whole short film it can feature in that one room. I can either film this
like any other short film, or film it as if a camera is picking this footage up. I may have
someone filming the footage outside of the room, recording theyâre conversation they are
having. At the start of the film it could be that they have just found the person filming them and
they have done something to him e.g. attacked/killed him. Thatâs why they say that wasnât
supposed to happen at the start. Then it goes back to when the person was filming them with
this phone. Therefore the ending will be the start.
ï§ Starts with Boy waving goodbye to his parents, who are about to set off in the car, one of his
parents points to upwards, referring to the upstairs window being open. The parents then
leave in the car, the boy then goes into another room sitting down and putting in his earphones
whilst going on his laptop. Then the camera shows the what time it is on the clock. It then
shows the boy on his laptop again, this time he takes out his earphones, and stretches. Then
all of a sudden there is a knock at the door, the boy looks at the clock, looking confused as if
who could it be at this time. Then a few moments later when he's about to put his earphones
back in, there's a loud bang upstairs. At this point you are going to be able to hear the boys
heart beating rapidly. As he is walking upstairs to investigate the sound, you can hear the
sound of the floorboards creaking like someone is walking about. At this moment the sound of
the heartbeat will be louder, making the scene tenser. There will also be some creepy sound
building up the tension even more. As the boy reaches the room where the sound is coming
from its empty but the window is wide open. The boy then realises that he was supposed to
have shut the window earlier (you will be able to recognise this by the boys facial expression).
Then he shuts the window quickly, as the tension has died down due to him shutting the
window and the room being empty. There is breathing coming from behind him. This adds lots
of tension, heart beating starts again rapidly. He slowly turns around, there is a big figure
standing there in dark clothing covering his face, holding either a hammer or a crowbar,
looking as if he's about to hit the boy. Then all of a sudden he says "This wasn't supposed to
happenâ, then the screen goes black and it ends with the credits.

8. Through gathering images that I found as inspiration to my short film
ideas, I found lots of repetition in the images that I gathered, especially
my main idea (The Knock at the door). I found that many of the images
were set in a dark setting or were just dark images in general. Most of
the images had the same colours which were dark blues, greys, and
blacks. They were all very horror related, as my short film is going to be
a horror short film. The mood of some of the images is quite
depressing, and lonely looking, as their is lots of greyish colours, which
often relate to those words. In other images the mood is quite spooky,
and cold looking. The reason for this is the colours of the images, which
is dark blues.
My mood board will influence my final product in many ways, one of
them being that it will help me determine the location, time, and setting
of my short film. It has already helped influence my main idea, as I have
now changed the setting and time, too late at night, to early hours of the
morning. I also think it will help me when editing, because it will make
me think to use more dark shades of colours.
