The Theory On Rainbow Formation And The Mechanics Of Them...
Rainbows and the mechanics of them have been studied since ancient times. Greek philosophers
had some understanding of the role of refraction, scientists in the 13th century produced theories on
rainbow formation, and in the 17th century, Rene Descartes sketched out the conditions required to
observe a rainbow(Douma).
There are two key aspects that affect a rainbow, and these include the altitude of the sun and the
size of the raindrops. The colors of the rainbow are because of two basic facts:
Sunlight is made up of the whole range of colors that the eye can detect. The range of sunlight
colors, when combined, looks white to the eye. This property of sunlight was first demonstrated by
Sir Isaac Newton in 1666.
Light of different colors is refracted by different amounts when it passes from one medium (air, for
example) into another (water or glass, for example) (University Corporation for Atmospheric
Research).
Determining whether or not the wavelengths will go through the raindrops or reflect depends on
the angle that the light falls on the backside of the raindrop. Each rain droplet has a function in the
formation of the rainbow. Sunlight enters the rain droplet at a specific angle and the rain droplet
separates the white light into many different colors. This angle is a fixed measurement between
your eye and the sun. What color that is refracted is dependent on the critical angle, the angle the
sunlight strikes the back of the rain droplet (Mahlen). Red

This essay explains the eight stages that Erik Erikson...
The best known neo Freudian was Erik Erikson. He formulated his own theory of personality
development. He projected that everyone goes through psychosocial stages rather than
psychosexual stages as Freud proposed. Erikson has identified eight stages of psychosocial
development that each person goes through during their entire life span. In Erikson s theory, the
stages of development process unfold as we go through life. Each of these stages has tasks that
have to be mastered in order to build toward a satisfying and healthy developed life. Those who do
not master the task will have a hard time dealing with crises. According to www.top psychology.com

Erik seems to think this is the best time to have a family because you are more worried with the
welfare of others. This is the point when you feel valuable and useful. When the person feels like
they have failed it seems to take the meaning out of life. They become bitter and angry at the
world. Integrity vs. Despair This is the last stage of life, sixty five years old to death. The person
should be able to reflect on one s life and accept it. These are the people who have lived their life
to the fullest. They also have a more accepting view of death. For the people who want to live
their life over feels they have been cheated out of something. They become depressed because
they ask the question, what if? They can be unhappy for the rest of their lives. As people go
through these eight stages of life they better their lives with acceptance and healthy
relationships. Erikson believes a person, throughout their entire life span, never stops
developing, until death. I personally agree with his theory. I have interviewed and/or observed
four people that are at different points of Erikson s psychosocial stages to see how they are
managing the developmental crises of that stage. My first observation was of a fifteen month old,
whom I watched to see how the subject was dealing with trust vs. mistrust. My second observation
was with a five year old, who has just begun school. This child was a good subject to compare to

Essay on Langston Hughes
Langston Hughes
Langston Hughes was one of the first black men to express the spirit of blues and jazz into words.
An African American Hughes became a well known poet, novelist, journalist, and playwright.
Because his father emigrated to Mexico and his mother was often away, Hughes was brought up in
Lawrence, Kansas, by his grandmother Mary Langston. Her second husband
(Hughes s grandfather) was a fierce abolitionist. She helped Hughes to see the cause of social
justice. As a lonely child Hughes turned to reading and writing, publishing his first poems while in
high school in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1921 he entered Columbia University, but left after an unhappy
year. Even as he worked as a delivery man, a messmate on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Hughes bought a house in Harlem, where he spent the rest of his life. Hughes still feared for the
future of urban blacks. His point of view became immense and included another book of poetry,
almost a dozen children s books, several opera libretti, four books translated from French and
Spanish, two collections of stories, another novel, a history of the NAACP and another volume of
autobiography, I Wonder As I Wander (1956). He also continued his work in the theater, pioneering
in the gospel musical play. Blues began in the south and slowly made its way into the great cities of
the North. As the great migration began people took what they knew in south to the north. This
included music. Langston Hughes living in Harlem was caught up in the new rhythm of music and
based many of his poems on it. As a boy he remembers hearing the blues perfomed in Kansas City.
Hughes was fascinated with black music, tried his hand at writing lyrics, and was taken with the
possibilities of performing music and poetry together 4 Besides having both a love of this music
and the common black folk it was created by and for, one of the reasons that Hughes began to draw
on the blues tradition for writing his poetry is that he hoped to capitalize on the blues craze.
5Though the markets for music and poetry were quite different, he thought he could

Essay Henry Hudson in Comparison to Samuel de Champlain
Henry Hudson and Samuel de Champlain were two great explorers. Both were born around 1570
and were sons of sea captains . However, even though they both have similarities from how they
were brought up, their voyages were very different from one another. Even the types of explorers
they were are different from each other. Not a lot is known about Henry Hudsons personal life.
What we do know is that he was married to a woman named Katherine and they had three sons
together. Also, it is said the Hudson was most likely to have come from a wealthy family and
apparently his grandfather discovered a trading company named the Muscovy Company . Henry
Hudson s first voyage was made in 1607 when he was hired to find a route from Europe to Asia...

Henry Hudson wanted to do the job that he was hired to do and make sure that he found what he
was supposed to be looking for. Although Hudson was not capable of making his dreams a
reality, without him, New York City may not have been founded for who knows how much
longer. Also, due to his discovery of the Hudson Bay, Hudson is considered to be someone
crucial to the founding of Canada. Actually, when Hudson discovered the Hudson Bay he
believed it to be a passage into the Pacific. This is because the Hudson is large enough to create
tidal waves. Even though some people think that Hudson is a failure, because he never found a
faster water route to Asia, he was seen as a very respectable and smart navigator. His ships
always made it back safe to the people that invested in his voyages and now there are more bodies
of water named after him than any other person to have ever lived . Samuel de Champlain was born
in 1570 and was a French explorer. One way in which Champlain differs from Henry Hudson is
that Hudson was born in England and Champlain was born in France. Champlain is believed to
have been born a protestant but when he got older he converted to Catholicism. Similar to
Hudson, not much is known about his earliest years. Champlain used to travel with his Uncle to
places such as Spain and the West Indies; these were some of the first voyages that he ever made.

Narrative Essay Mexico
My summer was completely over. I love my grandmother and everything, but she had just
annihilated what I had been looking forward to the ENTIRE year. Every summer, I travel to
Mexico to visit my father, Luis. We do something distinctive each year. Whether it s going to the
beach or driving a tractor, I always end up amused. This summer, my brother Edel, my father,
and I were supposed to sleep in a cabin, which was in tremendous mountains, go hiking,
swimming in breath taking waterfalls and zip lining on one of the world s most enormous
ziplines. I was extremely anxious to begin my paradisiacal vacation. On the other hand, Edel
was not as eager as I was to potentially die. First of all, it was a excessively safe zip line, that also
had wagers which stated if you were harmed they were not responsible. SOO, he had a slight
point. There were still hundreds of human beings that had a once in a lifetime experience. My
father had already gone once, how much harder is it going on a second time? Mexico can be
REALLY different from the United States in many ways. It reminds me of a cluttered bedroom,...

The first thing I did was go outdoors, and remark the beautiful scenery. Hundreds of trees were
poking out sky high mountains along with dangerous animals that could kill me with a bite,
living in the soil to the left and to my right were some noisy chickens. There are literally chickens
roaming the dirt roads in packs. It s hilarious when you try to charge after them, which then
results in a great deal of chaos, including constant clucking . I went back inside to take a shower,
just as my father drove into the driveway. He told me to get dressed pronto and grab everything,
not giving me time to ask questions. I immediately started wondering What on Earth is going on?.
My grandfather looked as confused as I did. I didn t even get a chance to get some actual pants on

Chopin VS Thurber and Relationships
In the stories The Secret Life of Walter Mitty by James Thurber (Clugston, sec. h1.1) and The
Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin (Clugston, sec. h2.1) escapism is a similar theme with in both
these stories, yet there is a slight variance in how each of these authors place these characters into
their escape from reality, relationships, and everyday chaos. In each of these stories the author
shows the characters escaping the realities of the relationship, one through Walter Mitts daydreams,
and the other through one brief hour when Louise Mallard pictures her new life of freedom.
Through the use of characterization, imagery, point of view and setting these authors bring in the
element of escapism to each story. In the short storyThe... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

about with her husband and was it silent or restless.
B. two white slender hands (Clugston, sec. h2.1) is a clue to the reader that her character is
gentle as well as a lady and should be treated as so, however the lines (Clugston, sec. h2.1) as
described by the narrator show she s hiding many deep feelings. When someone is filled with
recession the chance to escape their stress and hurt would be welcomed.
In The Secret Life of Walter Mittythe use of imagery give the reader a illustrative description of
the daydreams he is having while allowing the reader to have a vivid picture of the goings on
around him. The imagery of his wife s consistent nagging is brought into focus allowing the
reader to identify with Walter concerning his wife s overbearing and scrutinizing ways. In The
Story of An Hour imagery gives the reader a feel of almost relief along with the use of our senses
such as taste, smell, sight and sounds to set a stage the tragedies yet to come. Deneau suggests
this story may be a reflection of a sexual experience. In both of these cases an escape from the true
reality is possible.

Comparing Abercrombie And Fitch, Forever 21, American...
Social Marketing
Of the hundreds of named brand clothing that form part of the retail and fashion industry I chose
to compare, for my analysis, Abercrombie Fitch, Forever 21, American Eagle, and H M. These
stores are prominent, well known for selling apparel, shoes, and accessories by the means of
offering sales and promotions to their customers. This is a clever strategy for attracting customers,
allowing them to believe that they bought goods at affordable, convenient prices and not to mention
the prestigious name prescribed to the clothing brands. Using keyhole.co as my main source, I
obtained relevant and valuable information regarding the status of these brands. My intentions
were to compare a period of 14 days, however, due to the limited access that I received from my
free trial, the program only allowed me to see fewer of the dates than I anticipated. I want to take
this opportunity and mention ahead of time that due to the various and distinctive products that
are sold from these stores, when looking for the spending capacity I decided to focus on shirts
/ jeans for men and women and compare the prices among them since each of these retailers carry
those items and as a way to make this report easier to contrast and comprehend. Also, when
approaching the section of setting , I screen shotted some of the images on Instagram and made
them into a collage to separate the type of clothes and trends that each of these brands sell currently.

Perception Of Behavior And Misbehavior
When we talk about behavior in early childhood education; we have to learn or define the concept
of mistaken behavior and misbehavior. Misbehavior is the conventional term applied to conflicts
that the child is involved in, resulting in consequences that often include punishment and the
internalization of a negative label such as naughty . One example of misbehavior is when the child
do something wrong and the teacher put a label to the child like you are a bad boy and the child
felt really gilt. Although teacher who punish misbehavior believe they are shaming children into
good, the result may be the opposite. Mistaken behavioris error in judgment and action behaviors
occur at three levels: Experimentation, socially influenced, and strong unmet needs. For mistaken
behavior examples, the first one is experimentation at this age the child is really curious and they
want to see, touch even taste everything. When the child experiments something that they never
see they get really curious and if you say that they can take something they just grab it and
sometimes brake or loose. The example for the second one; Social influence is: when the
children are in the circle time and one of the child stars to laugh and jump and everybody start it
to do the same. Also, at these are the child is like a sponge sometimes they follow the behavior of
an adult or the teacher like a model. And for the last one Strong unmet needs, the child have a bad
behavior because is passing thought

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Agricultural Subsidies...
1.Introduction
Subsidies are a controversial subject worldwide, but especially the agricultural subsidies in the
European Union (EU) have been involved in a controversial debate for years. The selling price
of farming products in Europe is extremely low, and farmers in Western European countries have
been struggling because the current price level could not cover their expenses. The local farmers
would not have been able to compete with the much cheaper prices of imported food, and would
be forced to diversify by now if nothing had changed. In order to keep farming existing as a
profession in Western Europe, the EU decided to help the farmers by providing an agricultural
subsidy.
Both advantages and disadvantages have occurred due to this solution. Whereas some argue that
subsidies are good for the economy as a whole, others preach the exact opposite. Therefore the aim
of this paper is to determine whether the advantages of agricultural subsidy outweigh the ... Show

The CAP is the Common Agricultural Policy, which is the agricultural policy of the European Union
. It was founded in 1962, but was reformed greatly, especially in 1992 and 2005. One of the main
tasks of the CAP is to implement agricultural subsidies, which are more essential now than ever.
Emerging markets were growing more rapidly and this gave them a chance to infiltrate the
European market much more quickly than expected. Emerging markets can sell their agricultural
products for a cheaper price than the local farmers, because their production costs are much lower.
Consumers preferred this lower price, and this resulted in a lower pricing standard than the local
farmers could afford. Local farmers could not compete with the farmers from emerging markets and

Is Race Biologically Real Essay
Is Race Biologically Real? People often use the meaning of race like a sticker; race is defined by
skin color, eyes and body shape, hair texture and facial features. However, there are no genetic
markers which will prove that one race is different than another. The concept of race isn t
biologically real but raceit s a method to divide a group from another one. Race doesn t have any
genetic basis. There is no genetic characteristic such as; gene or feature to tell the differences
between humans. In other words, the race isn t biologically real because there is no scientific
evidence which can prove that race is biologically real because there is no genetic markers evidence
which cannot be denoted that one particular group is different than other.
To illustrate, in the lab class according to the Race: The Power of an Illusion generally speaking

Many years ago people weren t divided by race but were divided by their religion, language, and
status. We are all one race because we are very similar to each other. The scientists could not find
any explanation or DNA evidence to convince us that there are differences between races group of
people, therefore biological race is not real which leads people to the conclusion that is just a myth.
Human variation is very complex we aren t alike; different hair texture, eye shape, and skin color
but we are one race. Racism takes potentially an idea of race because it is used to separate one
group from other; even if we don t share the same languages, customs or cultures we aren t that

Queen Elizabeth I s Speech Analysis
Queen Elizabeth I s speech can be considered as a historical political text in which Queen
Elizabeth I is giving a speech to her troops for getting prepared for the battle against Spanish
troops, the Spanish Armada, managed by King Philip II of Spain, during the summer of 1588.
This speech took place in Tilbury, in Essex, where the troops were assembled, near the Thames
Estuary. With it, Queen Elizabeth I was trying to make her troops know that Philip had reached
Englandwith his fleet in order to conquer it. This speech was found in a letter dated 1623, from
Leonel Sharp, who had been a witness when Elizabeth delivered her speech.
Due to everything mentioned above, this speech can be situated during the century of Tudor rule
(1485 1603), a glorious period of English history.
During the fifteenth century, the trade in England had been damaged. Before dying and, in order
to improve England s trade because of its importance, Henry VII, who was the king at that
moment, spent a big amount of money in a fleet of merchant ships. When he died, he left the reign
to his son, Henry VIII. In 1510 Henry married Catherine of Aragon but, years later, after several
disagreements, he got divorced and married Anne Boleyn. It meant a breakdown with Catholicism,
establishing by this way the Protestant Church. Some years later, in 1547, Henry died and ... Show

The True Nature Of Polymers
Since the beginning Polymers have been with us; they form the very basis of life. Until the middle
of the 20thcentury we were unaware but slowly and gradually we began to understand the true
nature of polymers. This understanding came with the development of plastics, which are materials
truly mady by man that are the ultimate tribute to man s creativity and ingenuity. The use of
polymeric materials has permeated in every facet of our lives. It is hard to visualize today s world
with all its luxury and comfort without man made polymeric materials.
Polymer materials in the form of solid plastics, п¬Ѓbers, elastomers, or foams. They may be hard or
soft or may be п¬Ѓlms, coatings, or adhesives. They can be made porous or nonporous or can
melt with heat or set with heat. The possibilities are almost endless and their applications are
fascinating. Although plastic materials in general are thermally unstable, ablation of some organic
polymers occurs at extremely high temperatures. Consequently, selected plastics are used to shield
reentry vehicles from the severe heat generated by air friction and to protect rocket motor parts
from hot exhaust gases, based on the concept known as ablation plastics. Also, there is a plastic
armor that can stop a bullet, even shell fragments. In addition to our food industrial sector , there
are flexible plastics films that are used to wrap your favorite bread, while others are

Saint Ignatius Of Loyola Personal Writings
The book, Saint Ignatius of Loyola Personal Writings, was translated by Joseph A. Munitiz and
Philip Endean and first published in 1996. This book contains many aspects of St. Ignatius life,
from his reminiscences to his spiritual exercises. Inigo Lopez de Loyola was born in 1491 in
Spain, the youngest of 13 children. Inigo became a soldier at the age of 18 and began to refer to
himself at Ignatius. Ignatius becomes a man obsessed with his image and a life of luxury until his
conversion into a devout catholic. Saint Ignatius of LoyolaPersonal Writings tells the story of St.
Ignatius early life obsessed with his image, and his transformation into his ultimate obsession with
living a life dedicated to Christ, that I believe may have interfered with his growing relationship
with God.
St. Ignatius lived his life in vain. He was too concerned with his outward appearance, and his
reputation among others. In battle, his legs were badly injured. Even through the excruciating
pain, he made an effort to show no outer sign of discomfort. When his legs had healed, one leg
was left with an unsightly misconfiguration from the healing of the bones. He underwent another,
even more, painful surgery to fix his outer appearance. During his long recovery, St. Ignatius read
about the life of Christ and the saints. As he learned more about the holy lives of the saints, St.
Ignatius was converted and was determined to live a life the way Christ and the saints did.
After St. Ignatius was

John Milton s Paradise Lost
John Milton s famous poem Paradise Lost has influenced society throughout the ages on a number
of topics ranging from the fall of Satan to the marriage roles that Adam and Eve teach us. One idea
stands alone though more so than that of any other topic that Milton writes about and that is the
idea of a Satanic Trinity. The Satanic Trinity shows how the evil of Hell spread to Earth and how it
tempts us in our everyday life. Milton writes about the Satanic Trinity because he believes that one
must understand the evil that comes out of the Satanic Trinity before one can fully appreciate and
embrace the good that comes out of the Holy Trinity. John Miltonis considered one of the greatest
English poets of all time. Milton s career as a writer of prose and poetry spans three distinct eras:
Stuart England; the Civil War (1642 1648) and Interregnum, including the Commonwealth (1649
1653) and Protectorate (1654 1660); and the Restoration (Albert C. Labriola par .1). Milton was
born at 6:30 in the morning on 9 December 1608. His parents were John Milton, Sr., and Sara
Jeffrey Milton, and the place of birth was the family home, marked with the sign of the spread
eagle, on Bread Street, London (Labriola par .6). Milton was one three children the other children
of John and Sara who survived infancy included Anne, their oldest child, and Christopher, seven

Porter s Five Forces Framework Essay
The Five Forces Framework and Competitive Strategy
In this framework due to Michael Porter there are two high level stages in the creation of
competitive strategy, each stage corresponding to a high level determinant of profitability
mentioned in the previous section. The first stage is the assessment of the attractiveness of the
industry in which a given company is embedded based on a structural analysis of the industry. In
this stage, called the five forces framework, five forces that influence industry attractiveness are
identified, as well as the factors (e.g., number of competitors, size of competitors, capital
requirements) that determine the intensity of each force and therefore the cumulative intensity of
the five forces. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the (conventional) personal computer (PC) industry would include PC
manufacturers like Dell and Apple, suppliers of semiconductor chips like Intel and Micron,
suppliers of disc drives like Seagate, suppliers of software such as Microsoft, etc. Substitute
products could be pen based tablet PCs or small hand held personal digital assistants (PDAs). In
the five forces framework described below, manufacturers and producers will be designated as (1)
competitors in the industry if they already have established products, or (2) new entrants if they are
trying to enter the industry, or (3) substitutes, if they provide alternative (substitute) products. The
term market denotes the buyers (or customers) of the product or service. For example, the market
for PCs would include enterprises and individual consumers.
The analytical process of strategy analysis and creation can be decomposed into the following five
steps.
1. Create a map of the industry in which the technology company is embedded.
There are five key sets of players that constitute the business landscape: competitors, new entrants,
substitutes, suppliers, and buyers. Identify key players (companies) for each industry.

As commercial marketing works towards profits and benefiting the marketer, social marketing
works for the benefit for society and the consumer (Pealer 2014). The ultimate goal of social

What Makes A Word Essay
Posted 30/05/2015 by Iain Campbell
What Makes a Word, a Word?
If a new word or neologism is not created by a lexicographer (the person who compiles a
dictionary), or any individual, then who decides what words will be a part of the English
language? The speakers of the language are who choose what words are used and which are not. It
s the day to day users of the language introducing and maintaining words, this is what evolves and
shapes the way the English language is spoken and understood by the people who use it.
There are a number ways in which a new word can be introduced into any given language, in this
post I will focus on the English language and the techniques commonly used to make new words
in the language. Not only does a word need to be created to be part of a language but it needs to be
used as part of the language regularly to be well recognised and accepted by the speakers, and there
for an official word in the language.
Shared Words
The first way a word can be made is through a different language sharing or donating a word with
another language or country. An English example of this technique would be the word ninja
which English speakers took from the Japanese and now is sometimes recognised as an English
word. Once the word is taken from a language the pronunciation and origins of the word become
lost with time and people can forget or are not able to tell that the word has foreign origins.
Similarly Caramel is stolen from another language and

Jealousy In Othello
Analyzing William Shakespeare s Othello
There are many different emotions like sadness, happiness, and joyfulness just to name a few that
people can experience. One of the most powerful and sometimes dangerous emotions is Jealousy.
Jealousy is a powerful emotion that most people experience at some point in their life. However,
not everyone is affected in the same way. Some people are filled with insecurity. While others are
filled with fear. Most people experience anger. In William Shakespeares Othello the audience learns

Othello s mom gave Othello the handkerchief, and told him to give it to his wife if he should be
married. This quote indicates that the handkerchief was then given to Desdemona as a precious
valuable item and losing it would be a catastrophe like no other. Lynda Boose argues that [t]he
handkerchief that will become to Othello evidence of her lust [where instead it] has always
been evidence of exactly the opposite nature (Boose 270). This indicates that the handkerchief
was a sign of her love but will transform into a sign of her adultery. Although the audience knows
that Othello is jealous. Othello himself denies that he has been consumed by jealousy, and that
he has been behaving irrationally. Othello claims that it is the cause, [his] soul. Let me not name
it to you, you chaste stars. It is the cause. Yet I ll not shed [Desdemona s] blood (Shakespeare

and not jealousy. After killing Desdemona Othello argues with Emilia that Cassio did top

Analysis Of The Pardoner
My initial reaction to the work was one on astonishment. Everything that the Pardoner was
saying and describing reminded me of the Evangelists of today of who travel from town to town
and setup great big tents just to steal the money from good hard working people from the way the
Pardoner has the same sermon practiced and rehearsed. Upon first reading, I have read this poem
more than a few times, I jotted down some words that I had never heard of before, those being;
Cuckold, Avarice, and Jakes.
Geoffrey Chaucer lived between 1340 and 1400 in London England. The son of a Sommelier of

In every small village that he visits his sermon topic is always the same: greed is the root of evil.
The Pardoner always preaches about greed, the same sin that he admits to possessing. Although the

examples from history and the Bible. However, the Pardoner himself states For I ll have money,
wool, and cheese, and wheat, though given by the poorest serving lad, or by the poorest widow in
the place meaning that he would rather take from the starving and destitute than give up his
creature comforts.
In Flanders, there were three young hooligans who loved to amuse themselves by gambling, being
rambunctious and drinking. The Pardoner goes into a speech of criticism about their sinful lives.
Finally, after his long speech, the Pardoner reflects back onto the three young hooligans, who are

Sleep At Anytime During Sleep Time
I would like to sleep at anytime during the day except the sleeping time. Whenever in the dead of
night, I deeply enjoy the tranquility and want to do something else rather than sleeping.
Reviewing for test, reading some books and watching movies are the reasons why I usually stay
up late. Without the fickleness of day time, my work and concentration are more efficient as I
stay up late. Last winter I stayed up everyday until 3 a.m. for more time to prepare for my various
college tests and drunk Red Bull to maintain my energy. However, my body started to reply to my
stay up getting some acne, memory decline and losing hairs. Although I studied more than before
when I stay up late, I could not remember the knowledge well on the... Show more content on

There is a strong evidence that memories are strengthened through deep sleep. The scientists did
an experiments with orangutan by making them a comfortable sleep condition instead of the
bed of hay. Deep sleep seemed to improve the orangutan s cognition: Whenever orangutan had
slept more deeply, they performed better at memory games (Barth). Deep sleep not only process
good memories but also deal with sad memories. If I went to sleep feeling upset, a lot of the time
I would l feel better when I wake up, and some experts argued that : Deep sleep can disarm
dangerous emotions, stripping away the upsetting aspects of it (Lewis). Moreover, the heart
rests and tired muscles repairs better while deep sleeping. When I was on my college tests
preparation stage, I often ate a medicine which treated and improved poor memories. In fact,
there is no need to buy expensive health medicine or beauty medicine, deep sleep is the best
natural medicine. Every minute in deep sleep is important for the physical operation, and it
separates for several stages that are recognized by the regular changes. First stage is the one
people get into light sleep : It is still a relatively light period between being awake and asleep
(Walcutt). It usually takes five to ten minutes to get through this stage, and the average sleeper
usually takes seven minutes. For me, I stay up really late and my brain

How Did Roman Architecture Influence Architecture
It s inconvertible that Roman s legacy can still be felt nowadays in our daily lives and it had an

Registered Nurse Personal Statement
My interest in nursing began when I was a young girl, being part of a dance group that traveled
to nursing facilities throughout Pennsylvania to bring joy to the elder population. This
experience introduced me to the healthcare field and developed my perception of both the
caregiver and patient experiences. Also, contributing to my interest in the nursing field was
caring for my terminally ill uncle, with my mother, until he passed. Originally, being only 9
years of age, this experience made me angry and confused, however, gave me motivation to find
out more information such as what treatments we were taking him to, why they didn t cure him,
what was cancer, and how does it take a person s life. Finally, I have always excelled and had a
love for science and math, which has assisted me through achieving my dreams of becoming a
registered nurse. These experiences developed a few main personal traits... Show more content on

I successfully passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX RN) on my first
attempt and received the opportunity to begin my career in orthopedics, stroke, and trauma at a

allowed me to apply my personal traits, mentioned previously, along with newly understood
knowledge. Over the last two years I have mastered my time management, prioritization, and
delegation skills to care for my patients and their family s appropriately. My career thus far has
allowed me to develop a special interest in critical care. I love being involved with my patients,
providing clinical care, education, and support through patient centered care. Therefore, my plans
after completion of my bachelor s in science degree in June of 2018 is to complete my critical
care registered nurse certification and begin my journey in a master s in science program to

Childhood Obesity Effects On Children
Since children are still in their developmental stages food habits formed early on will only carry
over into adulthood, and continue to progress getting worse. Childhood obesity is such a concern
because of the health problems that come along with being obese. Obese children are more likely
to develop serious health conditions, such as high blood pressure, asthma, cardiovascular disease,
and type 2 diabetes ( Mikailova). There is nothing more important than staying healthy, and
obviously as a country we are doing a poor job of ensuring that children grow up healthy as well

Evolution of Cars from 1970s-2010
The automobile industry is known for its constant remodeling and change from year to year. While
there are not generally drastic changes, there are societal and cultural changes that affect the styling
of the automobiles that companies produce. Beginning in the 1970 s there were drastic changes in
society that completely altered the products car companies were distributing, such as the change
from muscle cars to smaller fuel efficient economy cars. As time progressed the evolution of
popular cars such as the station wagon, minivan, and SUV, were influenced by social, political, and
economic factors that inevitable dictated the progression of the automobileindustry. The 1970 s

The Ford Pinto memo ruthlessly calculated the cost of reinforcing the rear end, $121 million,
versus the potential payout to victims, $50 million (Worst Car s of All Time). In the United
States, imported cars became a significant factor for the first time, and several domestic built
subcompact models entered the market. European car design underwent major changes during
the 1970 s due to the need for performance with high fuel efficiency. Designs such as the
Volkswagen Golf and Passat, BMW 3, 5 and 7 series, and Mercedes Benz S Class appeared at the
latter half of the decade. The designs of Giorgetto Giugiaro became dominant, along with those of
Marcello Gandini in Italy. These smaller more streamlined cars took over the market because of
their fuel efficiency as well as its innovative design for the time (Volkswagen). The Japanese
automobile industry also flourished during the 1970 s compared to other major auto industries. It
took off during this time as its popularity and market exponentially increased within a short amount
of time. Japanese vehicles became internationally renowned for their affordability, reliability, and
fuel efficiency, which had a high appeal to American customers due to the oil embargo. Japanese
car manufacturing became proficient in

The Main Causes And Consequences Of World War II
World War II is the largest and most violent armed conflict in the history of mankind during the
year from 1939 to 1945. World War II is a general war involving multiple major parties like
United States or Germany. It resulted in serious consequences, with massive loss of life and
widespread destruction all over the world. I will explain the reason why World War II broke out
using three layers individuals, state and society, and international system.
There is a quote said by Sir Thomas More: The common folk do not go to war of their own
accord, but are driven by the madness of kings . In World War II, the individual that contributed to
the outbreak of the war is Adolf Hitler, the Nazi leader of Germany. There are some main features
in the personality of Hitler, including disposition to exploit and manipulate others and also a lack
of empathy with human. He is a power oriented individual who have a tremendous need for power.
He is rational individual with the ambition of maximizing national benefits. Due to these traits of
his personality, his action towards the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. The Theory On Rainbow Formation And The Mechanics Of Them... Rainbows and the mechanics of them have been studied since ancient times. Greek philosophers had some understanding of the role of refraction, scientists in the 13th century produced theories on rainbow formation, and in the 17th century, Rene Descartes sketched out the conditions required to observe a rainbow(Douma). There are two key aspects that affect a rainbow, and these include the altitude of the sun and the size of the raindrops. The colors of the rainbow are because of two basic facts: Sunlight is made up of the whole range of colors that the eye can detect. The range of sunlight colors, when combined, looks white to the eye. This property of sunlight was first demonstrated by Sir Isaac Newton in 1666. Light of different colors is refracted by different amounts when it passes from one medium (air, for example) into another (water or glass, for example) (University Corporation for Atmospheric Research). Determining whether or not the wavelengths will go through the raindrops or reflect depends on the angle that the light falls on the backside of the raindrop. Each rain droplet has a function in the formation of the rainbow. Sunlight enters the rain droplet at a specific angle and the rain droplet separates the white light into many different colors. This angle is a fixed measurement between your eye and the sun. What color that is refracted is dependent on the critical angle, the angle the sunlight strikes the back of the rain droplet (Mahlen). • 3. This essay explains the eight stages that Erik Erikson... The best known neo Freudian was Erik Erikson. He formulated his own theory of personality development. He projected that everyone goes through psychosocial stages rather than psychosexual stages as Freud proposed. Erikson has identified eight stages of psychosocial development that each person goes through during their entire life span. In Erikson s theory, the stages of development process unfold as we go through life. Each of these stages has tasks that have to be mastered in order to build toward a satisfying and healthy developed life. Those who do not master the task will have a hard time dealing with crises. According to www.top psychology.com /9043 Erikson and http://azaz.essortment.com/psychosocialdev_rijk.htm the eight stages of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Erik seems to think this is the best time to have a family because you are more worried with the welfare of others. This is the point when you feel valuable and useful. When the person feels like they have failed it seems to take the meaning out of life. They become bitter and angry at the world. Integrity vs. Despair This is the last stage of life, sixty five years old to death. The person should be able to reflect on one s life and accept it. These are the people who have lived their life to the fullest. They also have a more accepting view of death. For the people who want to live their life over feels they have been cheated out of something. They become depressed because they ask the question, what if? They can be unhappy for the rest of their lives. As people go through these eight stages of life they better their lives with acceptance and healthy relationships. Erikson believes a person, throughout their entire life span, never stops developing, until death. I personally agree with his theory. I have interviewed and/or observed four people that are at different points of Erikson s psychosocial stages to see how they are managing the developmental crises of that stage. My first observation was of a fifteen month old, whom I watched to see how the subject was dealing with trust vs. mistrust. My second observation was with a five year old, who has just begun school. This child was a good subject to compare to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay on Langston Hughes Langston Hughes Langston Hughes was one of the first black men to express the spirit of blues and jazz into words. An African American Hughes became a well known poet, novelist, journalist, and playwright. Because his father emigrated to Mexico and his mother was often away, Hughes was brought up in Lawrence, Kansas, by his grandmother Mary Langston. Her second husband (Hughes s grandfather) was a fierce abolitionist. She helped Hughes to see the cause of social justice. As a lonely child Hughes turned to reading and writing, publishing his first poems while in high school in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1921 he entered Columbia University, but left after an unhappy year. Hughes still feared for the future of urban blacks. His point of view became immense and included another book of poetry, almost a dozen children s books, several opera libretti, four books translated from French and Spanish, two collections of stories, another novel, a history of the NAACP and another volume of autobiography, I Wonder As I Wander (1956). He also continued his work in the theater, pioneering in the gospel musical play. Blues began in the south and slowly made its way into the great cities of the North. As the great migration began people took what they knew in south to the north. This included music. Langston Hughes living in Harlem was caught up in the new rhythm of music and based many of his poems on it. As a boy he remembers hearing the blues perfomed in Kansas City. Hughes was fascinated with black music, tried his hand at writing lyrics, and was taken with the possibilities of performing music and poetry together 4 Besides having both a love of this music and the common black folk it was created by and for, one of the reasons that Hughes began to draw on the blues tradition for writing his poetry is that he hoped to capitalize on the blues craze. 5Though the markets for music and poetry were quite different, he thought he could ... • 6. Essay Henry Hudson in Comparison to Samuel de Champlain Henry Hudson and Samuel de Champlain were two great explorers. Both were born around 1570 and were sons of sea captains . However, even though they both have similarities from how they were brought up, their voyages were very different from one another. Even the types of explorers they were are different from each other. Not a lot is known about Henry Hudsons personal life. What we do know is that he was married to a woman named Katherine and they had three sons together. Also, it is said the Hudson was most likely to have come from a wealthy family and apparently his grandfather discovered a trading company named the Muscovy Company . Henry Hudson wanted to do the job that he was hired to do and make sure that he found what he was supposed to be looking for. Although Hudson was not capable of making his dreams a reality, without him, New York City may not have been founded for who knows how much longer. Also, due to his discovery of the Hudson Bay, Hudson is considered to be someone crucial to the founding of Canada. Actually, when Hudson discovered the Hudson Bay he believed it to be a passage into the Pacific. This is because the Hudson is large enough to create tidal waves. Even though some people think that Hudson is a failure, because he never found a faster water route to Asia, he was seen as a very respectable and smart navigator. His ships always made it back safe to the people that invested in his voyages and now there are more bodies of water named after him than any other person to have ever lived . Samuel de Champlain was born in 1570 and was a French explorer. One way in which Champlain differs from Henry Hudson is that Hudson was born in England and Champlain was born in France. Champlain is believed to have been born a protestant but when he got older he converted to Catholicism. Similar to Hudson, not much is known about his earliest years. Champlain used to travel with his Uncle to places such as Spain and the West Indies; these were some of the first voyages that he ever made. Also, during the time period of 1601 1603, ... Every summer, I travel to Mexico to visit my father, Luis. We do something distinctive each year. Whether it s going to the beach or driving a tractor, I always end up amused. This summer, my brother Edel, my father, and I were supposed to sleep in a cabin, which was in tremendous mountains, go hiking, swimming in breath taking waterfalls and zip lining on one of the world s most enormous ziplines. I was extremely anxious to begin my paradisiacal vacation. On the other hand, Edel was not as eager as I was to potentially die. First of all, it was a excessively safe zip line, that also had wagers which stated if you were harmed they were not responsible. SOO, he had a slight point. Chopin VS Thurber and Relationships In the stories The Secret Life of Walter Mitty by James Thurber (Clugston, sec. h1.1) and The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin (Clugston, sec. h2.1) escapism is a similar theme with in both these stories, yet there is a slight variance in how each of these authors place these characters into their escape from reality, relationships, and everyday chaos. In each of these stories the author shows the characters escaping the realities of the relationship, one through Walter Mitts daydreams, and the other through one brief hour when Louise Mallard pictures her new life of freedom. When someone is filled with recession the chance to escape their stress and hurt would be welcomed. In The Secret Life of Walter Mittythe use of imagery give the reader a illustrative description of the daydreams he is having while allowing the reader to have a vivid picture of the goings on around him. The imagery of his wife s consistent nagging is brought into focus allowing the reader to identify with Walter concerning his wife s overbearing and scrutinizing ways. In The Story of An Hour imagery gives the reader a feel of almost relief along with the use of our senses such as taste, smell, sight and sounds to set a stage the tragedies yet to come. Deneau suggests this story may be a reflection of a sexual experience. In both of these cases an escape from the true reality is possible. (1)Secret Life of Walter Mitty A.In the stanzas not so fast! Misbehavior is the conventional term applied to conflicts that the child is involved in, resulting in consequences that often include punishment and the internalization of a negative label such as naughty . One example of misbehavior is when the child do something wrong and the teacher put a label to the child like you are a bad boy and the child felt really gilt. Although teacher who punish misbehavior believe they are shaming children into good, the result may be the opposite. Mistaken behavioris error in judgment and action behaviors occur at three levels: Experimentation, socially influenced, and strong unmet needs. For mistaken behavior examples, the first one is experimentation at this age the child is really curious and they want to see, touch even taste everything. The local farmers would not have been able to compete with the much cheaper prices of imported food, and would be forced to diversify by now if nothing had changed. In order to keep farming existing as a profession in Western Europe, the EU decided to help the farmers by providing an agricultural subsidy. One of the main tasks of the CAP is to implement agricultural subsidies, which are more essential now than ever. Emerging markets were growing more rapidly and this gave them a chance to infiltrate the European market much more quickly than expected. Emerging markets can sell their agricultural products for a cheaper price than the local farmers, because their production costs are much lower. Consumers preferred this lower price, and this resulted in a lower pricing standard than the local farmers could afford. Local farmers could not compete with the farmers from emerging markets and therefore globalisation led to the reformation of the CAP accompanied by farming ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Until the middle of the 20thcentury we were unaware but slowly and gradually we began to understand the true nature of polymers. This understanding came with the development of plastics, which are materials truly mady by man that are the ultimate tribute to man s creativity and ingenuity. The use of polymeric materials has permeated in every facet of our lives. It is hard to visualize today s world with all its luxury and comfort without man made polymeric materials. If a new word or neologism is not created by a lexicographer (the person who compiles a dictionary), or any individual, then who decides what words will be a part of the English language? The speakers of the language are who choose what words are used and which are not. It s the day to day users of the language introducing and maintaining words, this is what evolves and shapes the way the English language is spoken and understood by the people who use it. There are a number ways in which a new word can be introduced into any given language, in this post I will focus on the English language and the techniques commonly used to make new words in the language. Not only does a word need to be created to be part of a language but it needs to be used as part of the language regularly to be well recognised and accepted by the speakers, and there for an official word in the language. Shared Words The first way a word can be made is through a different language sharing or donating a word with another language or country. An English example of this technique would be the word ninja which English speakers took from the Japanese and now is sometimes recognised as an English word. Once the word is taken from a language the pronunciation and origins of the word become lost with time and people can forget or are not able to tell that the word has foreign origins.
