Introduction : social change means change in the structure and functions of human society. The human life is not static. It is under constant change in the ideals, attitude values of an individual which affects social attributes and social structure. Which no society in the  world can escape.
‘ Social’ means ‘concerning society’ and ‘change’ means ‘deviation from existing pattern'. In this sense social change means change in the structure and functions of human society.  In fact human life is not static. It is under a constant change in the ideas, attitudes and values of an individual.  Meaning of social change :
 
DEFINITION’S: According to sir Jones :  “ social change is a term used to describe variation in or modification of any aspects of social processes, Social interactions or social organization”.   According to Mories Ginsberg :  “ Social change implies a change in social structure :Example The size of society”.
Social change is continuous Social change is temporal social change is environmental social change is human change Social  change  is  not a uniform  Social  Change  is a  continuous  process  social change may create chain reaction social change results from interaction of number of factors

Social change helps in promoting capacity to welcome and accept changes in social structure. Social change helps in evaluating transmission of culture. Social change develops the standard of living in the society. Social change plays an important role in bring new developments in technology.
Social change gives an idea about existing socio-cultural patterns of society. Social change increases the area of knowledge in individuals. Social change helps in developing humans new social relations. Social change increases inter personal relationships in schools and society. Social change helps to bring new revolutions in society. Social change is an instrument of new innovations and researches. Social change gives feedback to individual to move up in his/her social status.
Conclusion: Social is plays very essential and important role in every human beings life and society. Social change brings change in culture also social so change is a universal phenomena it means occurs in every society. No society is static or free form social change without social change prosperity and human development is not possible social change brings  change in materialistic and non-materialistic form of culture.
