Shakira is a Colombian singer born in 1977 in Barranquilla, Colombia. She started writing songs at age 13 and taking belly dancing classes at age 14. Some of her best-selling albums include Pies Descalzos (1995-1997), ¿Dónde están los ladrones? (1998-2000), and Laudry Service (2001-2004).
