Shaggy is a Jamaican-American reggae singer and rapper known for his 1995 hit "Boombastic" and 2000 hit "It Wasn't Me". He took his stage name from his shaggy hair. He is the only dancehall artist to sell over 10 million copies of an album. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica and later moved to Brooklyn, New York where he was discovered singing in the streets. He served in the US Marines where he developed his signature singing style.
