For a shadow photography project, students will take 3 final photos forming a triptych interpreting a song, poem, or quote. For the first photo due January 11th, students should shoot just a shadow without the object casting it. For the second photo due January 14th, students should shoot part of the object and its shadow. For the third photo due January 15th, students should shoot the full object and its shadow. The goal is for the 3 photos to combine to illustrate the chosen work. Students will receive feedback and critique on January 21st when all photos are due.

1. Project #1: Shadow Photography
-For this Project you will be taking 3 final photos.
- A series of work called a Triptych that will reinterpret
your favorite song, poem, fairytale, quote.
“Life’s too short to be walking on egg shells”

2. Photo 1: Shoot the shadow and leave
the thing creating it out of the shot.
Due: Monday, Jan. 11th (5 photos)

6. *Can be 5 photos of same object at different angles OR 5 different photos

8. Photo 2: Shoot a piece of the subject casting
the shadow and include the shadow.
Due: Thursday, Jan. 14th 5 photos

11. Photo 3: Shoot the whole subject and

15. The shadows in photos can charge the emotions, create surreal,
change the concepts and show a different aspect of the subject
to the viewer.
