Project #1: Shadow Photography
-For this Project you will be taking 3 final photos.
- A series of work called a Triptych that will reinterpret
your favorite song, poem, fairytale, quote.
“Life’s too short to be walking on egg shells”
Photo 1: Shoot the shadow and leave
the thing creating it out of the shot.
Due: Monday, Jan. 11th (5 photos)
*Can be 5 photos of same object at different angles OR 5 different photos
-Just shadow, not object itself.
-SKETCH AN EXAMPLE ON YOUR SHEET
-You can talk to others and get ideas.
Photo 2: Shoot a piece of the subject casting
the shadow and include the shadow.
Due: Thursday, Jan. 14th 5 photos
*Can be 5 photos of same object at different angles OR 5 different photos.
-Piece of the subject casting the shadow and include the shadow
-SKETCH ONE EXAMPLE ON YOUR SHEET
-You can talk to others and get ideas.
Photo 3: Shoot the whole subject and
its shadow.
Due Friday, Jan. 15th : 5 photos
The shadows in photos can charge the emotions, create surreal,
change the concepts and show a different aspect of the subject
to the viewer.

Beginning of class. Critique Day!
• You may combine 3 different techniques or all the same.
• Remember you are making 3 pieces that fit together to make one
composition illustrating your song, poem, fairytale, or quote.
