Candidate Erica Alves Barbosa with Candidate Number 6155 submitted a preliminary task for a final newscast. The newscast met some conventions of real media such as placing the most important story first and including different types of news stories. However, it challenged some conventions by not using a posh British accent, having more than one presenter, and including interactivity between hosts. The newscast developed the convention of including news theme music but did not follow conventions related to weather and transport.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

- Conventions metWe have organised our news stories to make sure that the most important news is placed first and the least important news is placed last.We have chosen the news story regarding what 16 year olds do after leaving school as our most important news story because unlike our other stories, this story provides useful and up-to-date information about an issue that causes many questions and doubts from our target audience which includes 16 year olds. In addition compared to our other news stories regarding school performances, celebrity and film we have decided that education should be our priority because its a topic that involves the future of our audience, we wanted to be a radio station that teenagers can enjoy , relate to and receive a positive influence.Our news stories cover a range of topics with various different news values. The topics we cover are education, death, music and film which provide different news values such as , negativity, human interest, local interest, simplicity and continuity.We mention the name of our hosts and the radio both at the beginning of our newscast and at the end, to make sure that the audience knows straight away what radio show they are listening to, and to increase the chances that they will remember the name of our radio and listen to us again.We used a range of formats to present our news stories, voxpop, outside broadcast, interview and interactive activities. We used voxpop and interactive activities to a allow the public to take part and share their thoughts on the issues discussed. We used interviews and outside broadcast to provide our audience with inside information given by people who understand and know about the issues discussed.Conventions challengedWe didn’t use posh British accents instead we used informal street language in order to match the style of speech of our target audience.We have a variety of presenters and reporters to provide a clear transition from one news story to the other.We have also made our presenters interact with each other to add on to the fun and exciting atmosphere of our radio to make sure that our audience enjoys listening to our radio and continue to listen to us.In order to make sure the music fits in with our target audience we have developed the type of theme music newscasts usually use from serious to a slightly more lively and hiphop-ish sound.
