Accelerate DevOps Transformation with App Migration to the CloudXebiaLabs
Migrating enterprise apps to the cloud may sound like a daunting leap, but it doesn’t have to be! Hear how Lincoln Financial Group, a 113-year old insurance institution is moving from a traditional development infrastructure organization to functional DevOps teams deploying applications to the cloud.
DevOps has made great strides in reducing bottlenecks in the software delivery process. Yet, it is surprising how many organizations keep DevOps on a separate track from long-established IT service management (ITSM) implementations and systems such as ServiceNow. Consequently, development teams find it challenging to track features, user stories, and IT service requests across different tools for backlog management and ITSM.
But how do they make sure tickets are closed when the work is complete? How can they ensure compliance? And can they answer the ultimate question: Which feature actually made it into which release?
This SlideShare shows how Mendix can help organizations in the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). There is more to it than just business & IT collaboration. Find out what an organization should do to be agile and what the 5 main focus areas are to achieve organizational agility.
The document describes Deployit, an application release automation platform from XebiaLabs that optimizes the application deployment process.
As software development teams transition to cloud-based architectures and adopt agile processes, the tools they need to support application development in this new world will change. In this session, we'll take you the transition that Amazon made to a service-oriented architecture over a decade ago, and introduce you to some of the processes and tools that we built and adopted along the way. We’ll share what lessons we’ve learned, explain how we’ve achieved better agility and reliability in our software development and deployment processes, and present an overview of tools we’ve used to help get us there that have since become services such as AWS CodeCommit, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeDeploy, and more.
IBM Design Thinking & the Bluemix Garage Method Dev_Events
The document describes IBM's Design Thinking and Bluemix Garage Method for developing solutions. It involves a multi-day process including understanding users, exploring ideas, and defining goals. For a case study on helping users make environmentally-friendly grocery choices, the process included: creating a persona named Marie; mapping her current shopping process and pain points; brainstorming solutions; selecting the highest priority idea of providing carbon footprint information; outlining assumptions, risks, and hypotheses to test; and defining initial goals and non-goals for the solution.
This document discusses feature-driven development and the use of feature toggles. It notes that concurrent development can lead to merge conflicts and bugs, but that feature branches and toggles can help address these issues. Feature toggles allow features to be independently activated and deactivated, and provide fallback options, helping with incremental development and release. The document recommends using short-lived feature branches, metadata to describe features, and administration interfaces to manage feature states.
DOES SFO 2016 - Sam Guckenheimer & Ed Blankenship "Moving to One Engineering ...Gene Kim
This document introduces Sam Guckenheimer and Ed Blankenship and discusses Microsoft's goal of creating a single engineering system (1ES). The purpose is to enable any developer to access and reuse source code across the company, get rewarded for creating popular components, and have changes instantly visible. In practice, this means scaling Git for enterprise use, promoting a live site culture, and creating a common telemetry pipeline to measure usage and engineering metrics. The goal is to have self-forming teams and determine if 1ES is achieving its goals like supporting 4x user growth.

Spring Venture Group successfully migrated to AWS with Docker containers and leveraged Logicworks to migrate to AWS and automate infrastructure build-out and deployment. Join our webinar to learn how Spring Venture Group, an innovative insurance brokerage, reduced risk and improved deployment velocity with Logicworks, AWS, and Docker.
Accelerating software delivery with AWSRob Greenwood
This document discusses continuous delivery and how AWS can help with implementing it. It defines continuous delivery as automatically deploying all code changes to a testing environment, production environment, or both after tests have passed. The benefits of continuous delivery include automated software releases, improved developer productivity, improved code quality, and lower lead times. AWS services like automation, built-in scalability, partner ecosystem, programmable infrastructure, and pay-as-you-go model can help with implementing continuous delivery practices.
How Azure DevOps can boost your organization's productivityIvan Porta
Azure DevOps can boost productivity through collaboration and automation. DevOps aims to continuously deliver value to users through practices like continuous integration, delivery, and deployment. Microsoft tools like Azure Boards, Pipelines, and Repos support the DevOps process. Azure Pipelines automates building, testing, and deploying code. Branching workflows and pull requests enable collaboration. Automation reduces errors and speeds up the release process. DevOps has helped organizations like Fidelity and Amica reduce costs and deployment times.
DevOps aims to bridge the gap between development and operations by fostering collaboration. Key aspects of DevOps include establishing a collaborative culture through open communication and engagement between teams, automating processes like builds, deployments, testing and system configuration, and implementing monitoring of applications and infrastructure through metrics and logging to ensure stability and enable issues to be quickly identified and addressed. Tools like Puppet, Munin, Graphite, Logstash and Graylog can help operationalize these aspects of DevOps.
Getting Started with Amazon Inspector - AWS June 2016 Webinar SeriesAmazon Web Services
The flexibility and scale of the AWS Cloud and the emergence of DevOps have combined to allow developers to build and deploy applications faster than ever before. Assessing these applications for security risks without slowing down the development process can be a challenge with traditional vulnerability assessment tools designed for on-premises infrastructure. Amazon Inspector, an automated security assessment service, addresses this by integrating security assessments directly into the development process of applications running on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2).
In this session, we will review Amazon Inspector for performing host security assessments and how it can become a seamless part of your devops lifecycle. We will run through a demo of setting up assessment targets and templates, installing the AWS agent, and running assessments. We will explore the findings generated by an assessment and discuss how you can automate the running of assessments.
Learning Objectives:
An overview and the value of Security Assessment testing with Amazon Inspector
How customer sign up for, configure, and use the service
Understand AWS Agent and assessment data security

This is a New Zealand wide meetup event with meetup groups from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch attending and open to anyone with an interest in digital sustainability or agile. All welcome. Joke, this is how it started. Jutta is now also available in Germany, i.e. hosted by Berlin/Brandenburg
According to the World Economic Forum, digital technologies can help reduce global carbon emissions by up to 15%. However, digitalization also comes with some challenges. Thus, if we want to make a positive impact by increasing sustainability, we need to address challenges like the digital divide, energy consumption of IT, or the rise of electronic waste. In this talk, I want to explore how Agile can help to leverage Digital Sustainability.
