We should develop a mission statement and goals for our academy to share where we are going. In addition, we need a credo to define our culture. When recruiting students and others, we must consider the tone we want to set about who we are and what we stand for to distinguish our academy. We should determine the key messages we want to convey to students, parents, leadership, businesses, colleges, and others.

1. SETTING A TONE AND DEVELOPING YOUR OWN CREDO
We should all have a mission statement for our academy, along with a set of goals and
benchmarks, so that everyone knows where we are going. But along with these should be
a sense of what our credo or culture is about. As we set about recruiting students, what is
