Daniel Obadia, Web Developer at INM, presented on the topic of accessibility and more specifically accessibility tied to AEM. While AEM is designed to create and support accessible sites, there are several enhancements that help ensure that AEM adheres to all the requirements of a level AA accessible site. Daniel will cover the enhancements that were made to AEM to help ensure compliance at this advanced level.
February 11, 2016 - Adobe Marketing Cloud User Group - Concordia's AEM Story ...INM_
During this Meetup, Concordia and INM discussed Concordia’s experience with re-platforming over 300 websites over to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and the various steps involved in making this happen.
Concordia gave some background on their past website and digital landscape before the move over to AEM. Then they provided insights on why the decision to move over to AEM and what factors went into selecting the tool and their experience since making the upgrade.
INM then shared about the various stages required for a project of this magnitude, such as:
-Gathering user requirements by interviewing stakeholders
-Laying out the information architecture
-Designing wireframes
-Back end and front end development
-Integrating third-part technologies and systems
-Coaching and author training
To close the presentation, Andrei and Chantal discussed their recent migration to AEM 6.1, lessons learned and what’s next for Concordia.
Concordia Speakers:
Andrei is the Lead Designer at Concordia with a broad experience in front and back end development, WCMS technologies and UX design.
Chantal is the Information Architect for Concordia.ca, Concordia’s intranet presence and MyConcordia portal.
Both Andre and Chantal have been with Concordia since the inception of the migration project to CQ 5.6 in 2012.
INM Speakers:
Nadine is INM's team leader for many large scale mandates and has proven experience in guiding multi-disciplinary teams through several successful website projects.
Nadine was involved in Concordia's re-platforming project.
2. In week 6 most of the editing of the film had be done, however we
did discover a few problems on the way. Such as problems with
continuity, transitions and sound. Although we encountered a few
problems, the editing process of the film generally went well as we
had completed many of the transitions and edited most of the
scenes to correspond and flow smoothly.
3. Problems and Actions to overcome!
One of the problems we realised in the process of editing was that in one
scene the actor was wearing his bag on his shoulders and leaves the
classroom with it on, but by the time of the next scene in the corridor he no
longer has the bag on. Leading to us having a small problem of continuity.
The bag is on the actors The scene straight after, the
back bag is no longer on his back.
4. Problem and Actions to
overcome! While editing there were also a few
issues with transitions. When trying
to put a cross fade in and out in-
between these two clips it did not
work by using one. So to overcome
the problem the fade to colour
transition had to be used twice in
the space.
When applying the cross dissolve
and trying to increase it’s duration
it created a problem as there was
no space on the timeline to place
it. To overcome this the editor had
to select ‘create transition’ and
place it on top of the clip, then
move the whole timeline
backwards.
5. Problems and Actions to overcome!
Firstly there was a small glitch in the scene
which could not be removed and so ruined the
consistency of the shot and was a big problem.
Later on we deleted a small section of the
scene and replaced it. In addition to this the
sound had to be dragged from part 1. and
pulled along to part 2. to carry the sound over
to the next scene. Whilst the audio sound at
part 3. had to be deleted in order for it to be
carried over.
Issues with the original scene with the homeless
person lead to us having to include the addition of a
new shot with Harry’s reaction to the homeless
person asking for money. The problem with this
addition was that it wasn’t shot in the same location
at the same time and so enviromental issues such as
the daylight affected the consistency of the scene,
although we tried to make it as consistent as
possible. The editor also copied the sound clip from
the original scene to make it as realistic as possible.
