Spatial Disparities in Access and Use of Rehabilitation Services in Northern ...IJSRP Journal
Access to health care is considered to be of great importance for a person’s right to health. This paper attempts to highlight the spatial disparities in access to and use of rehabilitation services across Imathia’s area in Northern Greece. Our study is being focused on one defined geographical area, Imathia, in Macedonia in northern Greece. We defined a public general hospital as a local National Health System institution providing health services for the purpose of rehabilitation concerning patients with musculoskeletal disorders. The implementation of data included descriptive and concluding statistical processing. The spatial data was visualized in points and polygons. Most patients (60.5%) are from areas near to the hospital which means that there, is more concentration. The research focuses on spatial disparities and does not deal with their causes. As a consequence these findings raise important research questions for future investigation.
This course is designed to provide the student an overview of the biomedical innovation and how it relates to healthcare sector. This course introduces medical technology innovations in the context of (A) identifying clinical needs, (B) the process of inventing new medical devices and instruments, and (C) implementation of medical devices in patient care. The student learns the process of identify (needs finding and needs screening), invent (concept generation and concept selection), implement (development strategy& planning and integration) phases of BioDesign.

Key Topics in Health Care Technology Evaluation
The amount of new information and data, and the number of available technologies are growing at an ever-accelerating rate. Did you know that during any given 24 hours, humanity generates enough new information to fill the Library of Congress 70 times (Smolan & Erwitt, 2012)? As a nurse informaticist, it is important to keep current on new developments in the field, but with the rapid pace of change, that effort can be overwhelming. It is easier to keep current with key trends if nurse informaticists focus on selected issues.
In this Discussion, you consider key topics in the field of health care technology. You then consider the different approaches you could take when designing an evaluation in these areas. For example, if you are interested in usability, your goal could be to determine if a system is user friendly from the viewpoint of a nurse. A different goal might be to determine if the location of the system facilitates ease of use from the viewpoint of physicians.
Note:
This Discussion serves as practice for the first part of your Evaluation Project. What you derive from your Discussion with colleagues will likely inform the work that you do in Part 1 of the Evaluation Project.
The Discussion focuses on the following major topics in the health care information field:
Implementing HIT Systems
Consumer health information
Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE)
Decision support systems
Electronic health records (EHR)
Tele-medicine and eHealth
Nursing documentation
Other Issues Related to the Use of HIT Systems
Interoperability
Unforeseen consequences
Usability

This paper proposes a cross-disciplinary methodology for a fundamental question in product development: How can the innovation patterns during the evolution of an engineering system (ES) be encapsulated, so that it can later be mined through data analysis methods? Reverse engineering answers the question of which components a developed engineering system consists of, and how the components interact to make the working product. TRIZ answers the question of which problem-solving principles can be, or have been employed in developing that system, in comparison to its earlier versions, or with respect to similar systems. While these two methodologies have been very popular, to the best of our knowledge, there does not yet exist a methodology that reverse-engineers, encapsulates and represents the information regarding the application of TRIZ through the complete product development process. This paper suggests such a methodology that consists of mathematical formalism, graph visualization, and database representation. The proposed approach is demonstrated by analyzing the design and development process for a prototype wrist-rehabilitation robot and representing the process as a graph that consists of TRIZ principles.
An Overview of e-Health in Indonesia: Past and Present Applications IJECEIAES
Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world. There are five major islands and thousands of smaller islands, most of which are in the distance. Therefore, its health services are hardly distributed. E-Health is one of the methods expected to deal with the problem of distance in health services. The development and use of technology in health area has given rise to several studies on the applications of e-Health in Indonesia. Based on a number of studies, we find that e-Health in Indonesia has been applied since 1985. The technologies and features used from time to time were growing in some period of time. However, the study also shows that from that point of time the number and variety of technologies and features provided are decreasing and the focus shifted to further analysis of the problems needed to be solved and provision of technologies and features only relevant to those problems. The development of e-Health applications in Indonesia has given promising results in providing health services, but they are still conducted by certain educational institutions and their uses are not evenly distributed throughout Indonesia.

According to U.S. Census Bureau, worldwide average of
infant mortality rate is 90, meaning that 90 infants die per
1000 live births within one-year period after birth. The
leading causes are stated as birth defects, preterm birth,
maternal complications of pregnancy, sudden infant death
syndrome (SIDS) and injuries (e.g. Suffocation).
Considering SIDS and injuries, the rate increases because
of uneducated or/and unobservant parents in such cases,
infant chokes on vomit or due to misplacement infant
suffocate. This study aims to reduce death rates of infants
by monitoring them continuously. We created a wristband
for infants to monitor SpO2 and heart rate, which is cloud
integrated, to share patients’ status with their doctor. By
this way, doctor can lead parents to take required actions
in a controlled manner. Moreover, the device also has the
ability to create audible alarms to warn the parents in
case of a complication.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
