Look at the following events on screen. They are not happening in a logical order.

The writer might say the player won the game for his team In the  ninth inning. Now, if you know baseball, you know that the player hit the homerun in the ninth or final inning. And you know what events occurred before he hit the homerun. You know He walked up to the plate. He hit the ball with the bat. He started to run toward first base. He continued to round the bases  when he hit a homerun.
When he went up to bat, he hit the ball, ran to first place, and continued to run around the bases to home plate.  You could figure out that the player  hit a homerun. You can also figure out that eight innings were played beforehand.
If the order doesn’t make sense, try to figure out what does. Picture in your mind what is happening. Organize the ideas so that they make sense. Reread or look ahead to help you find the  correct sequence.
