September 11th 2001 Essay
September 11th, 2001. Several planes were hijacked on their way from the East Coast of the U.S.A.
to California. Two of the four, American Airlines flight 11 and 175 collided with each of the twin
towers respectively. Flight 77 hit the west side of the Pentagon, leading to the collapse of the
immediate area and United Airlines flight 93 crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after a power
struggle on the aircraft. A total of 2,996 people were killed that day, including the passengers and
crew aboard the aircraft, along with the 19 terrorists. The attacks sent the whole world into
mourning, with numerous memorials being erected and the day being nationalised as a public
holiday. It also set in motion the events that would lead to the invasion ... Show more content on

This is where agencies such as the CIA and NSA have been ignoring peoples rights, and invading
their privacy by spying on them and stealing their data. An prime example of this is the PRISM
Surveillance program, of which the details where leaked to the Washington post and The Guardian
by whistle blower Eduard Snowden. The program collects user collects e–mail, voice, text and video
chats of foreigners and an unknown number of Americans from Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Apple
and other tech giants. The program was present in a dozen other countries including New Zealand
and Australia, collecting data illegally from its citizens as well and thus the issue spreads from its
U.S. foundations. The right to privacy is something every human on the planet has, but the NSA and
numerous other nefarious agencies choose to ignore this and continue to snoop on citizens, checking
their every digital footprint. It also gives the government an unprecedented amount of power and
control, which history has taught us, can easily lead into greed and lust corrupting the government
and country This loss of privacy is very ironic in a society based around freedom and choice, but is
also illegal and morally, yet no consequences have been dished out to the guilty

The Terrorist Attack on 9/11
The terrorist attack on September 9, 2001, known as 9/11, was the most devastating terrorist attack
to date, due to the high death toll, the suspected secondary explosion found in the Twin Towers, and
the explosion at the Pentagon. In order to learn about the 9/11 Terrorist Attack, one must learn more

Al Qaeda, Isis And Terror Attacks On The United States Essay
Chapter 8
Al–Qaeda, ISIS and Terror Attacks on the United States
Al–Qaeda is the parent to ISIS. Al–Qaeda translates to "The Fundament". It is a multi–national
radical group founded in 1988 by Osama bin Laden and other militants who fought for Afghanistan
against the Soviet Union. It has been labeled as a terrorist group by the United Nations Security
Council and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and quite a few other countries. The Sunni–
Islamic group was based in Sudan for the early part of the 1990, they moved to Afghanistan
somewhere around 1996 and went under the name of Taliban. The group merged with Jihad's and
later declared a holy war against the United States. The United States troops all but eliminated the
group and killed its leaders while they were in Afghanistan, but with withdrawal of the troops in
2011, have regrouped and made a comeback. https://www.britannica.com/topic/al–Qaeda
ISIS which stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria could also be called ISIL which stand for
Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. They are an organization or a type of government that was once
with Al–Qaeda and were so violent that Al–Qaeda disowned ISIS. They believe what they are doing
is what Muhammad would have them do. They are not too far away from what Hitler thought about
the Jews. ISIS lures Westerners to join them by promising camaraderie, moralistic activity and a
sense of heroism that deludes these people with an adventure like they never had before. The

A Boeing 767 containing approximately twenty thousand gallons of jet fuel flew into the North
tower of the World Trade Center in New York City on a pristine morning at 8:45 a.m. on September
11, 2001. The collision left a giant opening close to the eightieth floor of the one hundred ten story
skyscraper, abruptly ending hundreds of people's lives and trapping hundreds more in the floors
above. As the evacuation of the tower and its twin– the South Tower– got underway by the local
authorities, television news channels broadcasted live images of what at first appeared to be a freak
accident. Then, eighteen minutes after the initial plane crashed into the tower, a second Boeing 767–

These terrorists were funded by Saudi fugitive Osama bin Laden's al–Qaeda terrorist organization.
They were allegedly responding in vengeance for the United States of America's support of Israel,
its sustained military occupancy of the Middle East, and its engagement in the Persian Gulf War.
Several of the terrorists had resided in the United States of America for approximately a year and
had attended the American commercial flight schools to learn how to fly a plane. Others had
smuggled themselves into the country months prior to the September 11 attacks and helped carry out
the operation. The nineteen radical Islamic terrorists effortlessly slipped knives and box–cutters
straight past security at three different airports on the East Coast and boarded four flights bound for
California. These flights were selected for the reason that the aircrafts were weighted with fuel for
the long journey across the country. Shortly after the planes took off, the terrorists hijacked the four
planes and made their way to the cockpit to control them. This transformed typical commuter
airplanes into deadly guided missiles. As millions of people witnessed the events happening in New
York, American Airlines Flight 77 flew around downtown Washington, D.C., and crashed into the
west side of the Pentagon military headquarters at 9:45 a.m. Jet fuel from the Boeing 757 caused a

Why Did 9/11 Happen
New York City 2001: On September 11 American were under attack. The World Trade Center
impacted by hijacked planes and engulfing the towers in flames.
"At first, it seemed like debris. Large objects were falling from the top of the World Trade Center's
north tower, just a few minutes after American Airlines Flight 11 hit.'"It took three or four to realize:
They were people," says James Logozzo" Jumpers fighting to save their own lives, while jumping to
their deaths. An alternate theory formed from destruct was premeditated that a explosion already in

The conspirator Morgan Reynolds strongly believed that no planes hit and that there were bombs

Conversely opponents believed planes hit and the towers fell.
September 11, 2001, America experienced a very tragic event in New York City. Two planes hit the
the north and south towers on full impact and they both tumbled down.
A survivor of the north tower, Ron DiFrancesco, he made a close call and he could have saved his
own life by making one decision.
"All of a sudden, there was the shift of an earthquake. People ask, "Did you hear a boom?" No. The
way I can best describe it is that every joint in the building jolted.. We all got knocked off balance.
One guy burst out of a stall buttoning up his pants, saying, "What the f*?" The flex caused the
marble walls in the bathroom to crack."

The Causes Of 9 / 11 And The 9-11 Attacks
There is one day in American history that no one American will forget. On that warm morning in
down town Manhattan became the last day for many people. People were living and enjoying life
without a care, then it struck. The first Boeing 767 struck then countless minutes passed, then the
second Boeing 767 struck. Everyone says people come together after an incident. Honestly, I believe
us Americans have gone a long way. That was a little over 16 years ago, not much has changed. The
United States of America is holding great suffering with everything that has been happening. We can
go off and talk about how all these other attacks are related to one another, but we will stick with
some 9/11 theories. Everyone knows that Osama bin Laden part of 9/11. Not everyone knows that
some other people were involved. The buildings were shut down the weekend before the attack.
With all the information I can find online and know about this attack personally will be used. We
will cover how exactly 9/11 was an inside job, those builds were rigged with explosives.
The planes that struck were not just "random" planes. They had the perfect flight paths. American
Airline Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 were the prime aircrafts (United Airlines Flight
175." & "American Airlines Flight 11). According to the two Wikipedia pages I just referenced there
were 5 hijackers on each plane. According to Mike Ahlers from CCN, the hijackers had more than
just box openers. They potentially had flip

The World Trade Center Building
It was a normal, September morning for Roz and her daughter, Amanda. She dropped her off at her
school and rode the subway to get to her job at the first World Trade Center building. After a few
minutes of entering the building, arriving at the 88th floor, and engaging in light small talk with a
coworker, an explosion occurred that shook the whole building. Dazed and confused, Roz and her
coworkers stood in confusion wondering what happened. It wasn't until they saw one of their team
members badly burned from head to toe that they realized that what had happened. Frantically, they
ran towards a stairwell and descended down 80+ flights of stairs to the safety of the firefighter and
police filled lobby. At a point of desperation and exhaustion, Roz was lucky to find a ride to her
daughter's school where family members were already there waiting to hear a call of good news (A
Survivor's Story). Stories like these are a dime a dozen, although many were not as lucky as Roz.
The attack on September 11th, 2001 forever changed the lives of many and the consequences had a
radical effect on all aspects of life including politics, health, and discrimination acts.
The September 11th incident itself consisted of the hijacking of four flights. American Airlines flight
11 was set to depart from Boston to Los Angeles at 8:00 a.m. The hijackers used knives to stab some
of the flight attendants on board. There was also report of a bomb in the cockpit. The hijackers tried

Abstract:
We as people examine the impact of post–9/11 airport security measures on air travel in the U.S.
Using five years of data on passenger volume, we evaluate the effects of the implementation of
baggage screening and the federalization of passenger screening on the demand for air travel. These
two congressionally mandated measures are the most visible changes in airport security following
the 9/11 attacks. Exploiting the phased introduction of security measures across airports, we find
that baggage screening reduced passenger volume by about five percent on all flights, and by about
eight percent on flights departing from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The September 11 attacks are the worst terrorist attacks ever committed on U.S. soil. On September
11 there were four passenger planes that were hijacked by terrorist. The first plane to be hijacked
that morning was American airlines flight 11. This passenger plane was crashed into the north tower
of the world trade center. About fifteen minutes later a second plane appeared in the skies it was
united airlines flight 175 and it crashed into the south tower of the world trade center. Forty five
minutes later the third hijacked flight American airlines flight 77 was crashed into the pentagon. The
fourth and last hijacked plane was united airlines flight 98 this plane was crashed in a field in
Pennsylvania after the passengers tried to stop the terrorist. Body: Air travel is a fast and convenient
way to reach a destination. Even if many passengers may complain of missed flights, delays during
the holidays, and the number of carry–ons they are allowed to bring onto the plane, air travel is an
important part of quick transportation. One essential part of the airport system is security. Today,
security is a major priority that airports must administer strictly. Due to the recent terrorist attacks
on September 11, 2001, airports along with airlines want their customers to feel safe. An interest in
airport security took me to the Tallahassee Regional Airport. Except for the

The Effects Of 9/11
When someone hears the word tragedy, many different words may come to mind. A tragedy is an
event that occurs that brings great destruction and despair to everything it affects. 9/11, or
September 11, was completely unexpected and devastating to the entire United States, and even to
many other countries around the world. 2,753 people have now perished thanks to this horrific
occurrence, varying from two years old to 85 (cnn.com, 2015). Clean–up afterwords cost nearly 750
million dollars, and much more economic costs were spent by the United States(cnn.com, 2015).
But, years later, it still makes a big impact on our decisions as a nation, just as it did when 9/11 first
happened. Long–terms effects of 9/11 include the way airports and planes are handled, the way
American muslims are looked at, and how tourism and travel have changed. September 11th, 2001
started out as a normal day for countless civilians. But it didn't stay this way for long. At 8:45 am,
Flight 767 crashed into the World Trade Center, which left a large, burning hole in the side of the
tower and killed many on impact and multiple more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, it says, the heroic death of Mohammad Salman Hamdani highlights the dilemma of
Muslims. He was a young Muslim medic who rushed to help and died under collapsing towers but
was publicly suspected of being a terrorist until five months later, when he was honored as a hero.
Muslims were the suspects across America (soundvision.com, 2016).
This man, who risked his life to save others, was automatically assumed to be the enemy just
because of the man's outward appearance. Another thing is that muslims have been subjected to
more intense and personal interrogations, and can be given less leniency at many times. The "Impact
of 9/11 on Muslim American " article on soundvision.com says, "Scholars estimate that 200,000 to
500,000 Muslims have been affected by this process." It also

The events that occurred on September 11th, 2001 are some that will never be forgotten in American
History. What was a beautiful day in New York City quickly turned into a American Nightmare as
multiple planes where hijacked by a terrorist group by the name of Al Quida. While these events

theories. Some of these theories suggest that George W. Bush knew about or even planned the tragic
events that happened that day. However these conspiracierie theories are simply false. Conspiracy
theories that blame the events that occurred on September 11th on the American Government are not
true. Still to be able to prove these theories incorrect one must understand what exactly happened on

There is one group responsible for the events of September 11, 2001. A terrorist Islamic group, al–
Qaeda, led by Osama bin Laden, were behind the attacks. Nineteen members of this group took
control of four planes. America's stance in the Persian Gulf War, their occupation in the Middle East,
and helping Israel is what caused this group to attack. At American commercial flight schools,
members of al–Qaeda had prepared for the attacks by enrolling in flying lessons. The terrorists
snuck box cutters and knives through airport security. Not too long after taking off, the terrorists

was around a perfect 80 degrees. Five hijackers boarded American Airlines Flight 11 heading for
Los Angeles, Ca. They crashed Flight 11 into the north side of World Trade Center Tower 1. A few
minutes later from the same airport, Logan International airport, five hijackers boarded United

Essay On Operation Enduring Freedom
On September 10th 2001 a cold front swept through the East Coast with rain and thunderstorms that
would leave behind a cool clear morning on September 11, 2001. That morning started as normally
as any other Tuesday of the year. The sun shined and the birds were singing. Children headed for
school, as adults set out for work. There was no foreshadowing or any warning of what was to come.
The morning routine of a bustling New York City was well into a rhythm, when the world that
Americans knew, was brought to its knees, and would forever be changed.
At 8:45 a.m., Eastern Time, out of the sky hurdled, toward Manhattan, an airplane. The American

Operation Enduring Freedom started on October 20th 2001, Operation Enduring Freedom was part
of a larger conflict that would become known as the Global War on Terrorism. It was the response to
the attack on 9/11; it came swiftly and was very harsh in nature. In total 2,380 American troops
would lose their lives to the conflict. The objective of the war was to free the regions of focus from
the grips of extremist ideology and rule. Operation Enduring Freedom was gateway to another
Middle East conflict that would begin to liberate a people from the oppressive rule of a sadistic
dictator. Operation Iraqi Freedom was started in order to liberate the Iraqi people from the rule of
Saddam Hussein and also to remove possible weapons of mass destruction from the unstable control
of said ruler. The conflict, which claimed the lives of 4,491 American troops, began on March 20th

The attacks of September 11th were intended to break our spirit. Instead, we have emerged stronger
and more unified. 9/11 was the worst day we have ever seen but it brought out the best in all of us.
9/11 is the worst and the most devastating day in New York history. This day will never be forgotten
in the history of America. The day that the terrorists thought we were going to separate but it
actually brought us even closer than ever. This day is called and remembered as 9/11.
The effect of 9/11 was very devastating in New York City and this is how it unfolded throughout the
day and time on September 11, 2001. According to http://www.history.com/topics/9–11–timeline,
this is a summary of what actually happened on 9/11. At 7:59 a.m., American Airlines Flight 11 took
off from Boston going to Los Angeles. At 8:14 a.m., United Airlines Flight 175 also took off from
London also going to Los Angeles. At 8:19 a.m., Flight attendants in Flight 11 informed the ground
personnel that the plane has been hijacked and then they informed the FBI. At 8:20 a.m., American
Airlines Flight 77 takes off from Dulles International Airport also traveling to Los Angeles. At 8:24
a.m. the hijacker, Mohammed Atta, takes Flight 11 to ground control. At 8:40 a.m., the Northeast Air

Introduction
On September 11, 2001, The United States was attacked by terrorists who sought to disturb the
freedom that the United States is well known for. These terrorists hijacked four of United States
planes and crashed them into the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and the fourth plane was intended for
The White House but fortunately bystanders on the hijacked plane could take them down and they
crash landed in Pennsylvania. Had there been sufficient security measures such as more efficient
metal detectors and baggage scanners at the airports these attacks may have been preventable.

Initially, TSA retained private security screeners. However, over a period of nearly seven months,
starting at Baltimore–Washington International Airport on April 30, 2002, and concluding on
November 19, 2002, TSA employees began to conduct passenger–screening operations at all U.S.
commercial airports.2 TSA made three important changes to improve the efficiency of security
screening operations. First, TSA increased staffing to help reduce waiting time in security lines.
Prior to 9/11, there were about 16,200 private security screeners employed at U.S. airports, nearly
all of whom were screening passengers. By the end of 2002, TSA had hired 56,000 screeners for
both passenger and baggage screening (TSA, 2002). Second, TSA increased the compensation of
screeners, offering higher wages and better benefits. Perhaps as a result, turnover among security
screeners plummeted (General Accounting Office 2003). Third, TSA increased training for
screeners. For example, prior to 9/11, x–ray machine operators at private security firms averaged
about twelve hours of training (Seidenstat, 2004), while TSA requires more than a hundred hours of
training for all its passenger and baggage screeners (General Accounting Office

The Incredible Toll of 9/11 Essay
September 11, 2011, started like every normal day in New York City. People rushing to work,
children going to school, and people taking a morning walk or jog. But no one knew that this day
would turn into a horror film. A terrorist organization call al–Qaeda hijacked airplanes and
hammered them into the World Trade Centers North and South Tower along with the Pentagon in
Washington D.C. The September 11, 2001, attacks changed America forever (9/11 Attacks – 102

At 9:12 on Flight 77, staff and passengers contacted their family and friends and air traffic control
that the plane had been hijacked. Approximately at 9:36, Secret Service agents evacuate the White
House employees to the Presidential Emergency Operations Center. The reason they evacuated the
White House is because the authorities were expecting that another hijacked plane was going to
attack either the White House or the Capitol (9/11 MEMORIAL – September 11 Attack Timeline,
pages 20, 22–23). At 9:37, hijackers crash Flight 77 into the Pentagon's western facade, killing the
fifty–nine on board the plane and one hundred twenty–five military and civilian personnel inside the
Pentagon. This had been the third attack on the United States within fifty–one minute. To help the
Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) find the hijacked planes, they ground all flights over, or bound
for, the continental United States. At approximately 9:59, after burning for a total of fifty–nine
minutes, the South Tower collapses within ten seconds killing many rescue workers and responders
(9/11 MEMORIAL – September 11 Attacks Timeline, pages 24–25,28). Around 10:15, the damaged
section of the Pentagon's outermost offices, known as the E ring, collapses. No on was injured. At

The September 11 Attack : American Airlines Flight 11
On the morning of September 11, 2001, four American planes soared through the sky carrying
hundreds of passengers. Unfortunately, none of the passengers knew it would be their last flight or
even their last day living. On board the four airplanes several Muslim terrorists raided the cockpits,
threatening the pilot's lives. By hijacking the four planes, the terrorists forcefully redirected each of
the planes off course to an unknown destination. American Airlines flight 11 flew right into the U.S.
World Trade Center's North Tower at 8:45am, causing it to immediately burst into flames. Only
sixteen and a half minutes later, United Airlines flight 175 hit the World Trade Center's South Tower.
Firefighters and policemen fled to the horrible destruction site called ground zero. The third plane,
American Airlines flight 77, sped towards America's famous five–sided building, which housed the
U.S. Defense Department. Bursting through the walls, the terrorists damaged the Pentagon, killing
many innocent Americans. Later, President George W. Bush responded to the terrorism by stating, "
Today our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of
deliberate and deadly terrorists acts. The victims were in airplanes or in their offices: secretaries,
business men and women, military and Federal workers, moms and dads, friends and neighbors.
Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror," (Peters and Woolley,

9/11 Role In American History
9/11 plays a big role in American history. It commemorates a date for those affected by this
traumatic event. Many can still remember the day, just as if it was yesterday – what they were doing
and where they were. The vast majority of our sophomore class had not even been born, or old
enough to recall this event. This date in American history unified us as a country.
At 8:46 in the morning, American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into floors 93 through 99 of the North
Tower, killing 76 passengers, 11 crew members, and hundreds of others in the building. Everyone
above the 91st floor had been stranded, three emergency staircases severed by the collision.

Questions On American Airlines, Flight 11
Katie's eyes blink open with a start as she looks over at the clock.
"Up before the alarm." She thinks with a smile.
It feels like ages since she's seen her family in Los Angeles. A long overdue visit home is just what
she needs. She jumps out of bed, excited to start her day.
After showering and dressing Katie eats her breakfast on the balcony. It's a beautiful Boston
morning, crisp with just a hint of fall in the air. Once winter comes there'll be no sitting outside. But,
today the bright blue sky shows no signs of what's coming.
Before heading out the door, she hurriedly checks her tickets one last time. Sure enough they are
right where they were a few minutes ago, safe in the side pocket of her purse.

With only a carry–on she quickly checks in and gets to her gate.
"Now boarding American Airlines Flight 11 to Los Angeles." The desk agent says over the loud
speaker.
"Could my timing be any more perfect?" Katie thinks as she walks toward her gate.
Entering the plane, she looks at her boarding pass, seat 8E. She quickly finds her seat where a
Middle Eastern man is occupying the aisle seat.
Nodding toward the window seat, "That's me." She says.
As she is struggling to heave her bag into the overhead bin the man gets up and assists her.
"Thank you." She says as she takes her seat.
A few moments later the flight attendant says over the loud speaker, "We have a bit of a situation,
this flight is full and we have a passenger who must get to LA for a medical crisis in her family.
Would anyone be willing to take a later flight?"
Katie looks around and nobody is offering to give up their seat.
"Don't get on that plane."
Without thinking, she raises her hand.
"They can have mine."
As she's leaving the plane a frazzled woman with a tear streaked face is coming towards her.
"Thank you, my dad..." Tears swallow her words and she takes her seat.
Apologizing for the delay the flight attendant announces they'll be taking off momentarily. At the
airline counter Katie's new tickets are already waiting, First Class, plus a voucher for food and
drinks – nice.
Sitting down at the bar Katie says, "It's 5:00 o'clock somewhere, I'll have a

Impact Of Transportation On 9/11

The greatest impacts on aviation security were the events that unfolded on September 11, 2001.
"American Airlines Flight 11, a wide –body Boeing 767, crashed into the North Tower of the World
Trade Center, at 8:46 a.m. EDT, hitting floors 94 to 98." (Bragdon, Clifford, 2008, p.127). At 9:02
a.m., United Airlines Flight 175, a Boeing 767, struck the World Trade Center South Tower hitting
floors 78 to 85. "A third airplane, American Airlines Flight 77, a Boeing 757–200, crashed into the
Pentagon in Washington, D.C., at 9:37 a.m." (Bragdon, Clifford, 2008, p.127). A fourth airplane,
United Airlines Flight 93, a Boeing 757, crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania; it is believed its
target was the White House or Capitol Building. This plot constructed by Osama bin Laden
exploited the vulnerability of the airplanes cockpit and control over the airplane. Bin Laden chose
the Boeing 767 for its capability of holding 20,000 gallons of jet fuel to use as a weapon on the twin
towers. The transportation system always recognized airplanes as a target of terrorist attacks, but
never considered airplanes as been utilized as a weapon in an attack. Domestic agencies were
searching for threats in the country. "The September 11 attacks fell into a void between the foreign
and domestic threats. The foreign intelligence agencies were watching overseas, while the domestic
agencies were waiting for evidence of a domestic threat from sleeper cells within the United States.
No one was looking for a foreign threat to domestic targets." (Kramer, R.M., 2005, International
Public Management Journal, 8(3). Unnatural threats are generally man made and include explosives,
biological weapons, conventional weapons, military weapons, improvised devices, sabotage, and

This idea has us believing than nothing is safe, and we can never really relax and enjoy our lives as
we did before September 11, 2001. The goal of terrorism being met here once again.
In America we place great value in our famous skylines of free standing structures. They show how
advanced our country is economically. We can build giant stadiums such as The Raven's PSI Net in
Baltimore for nothing more than a game. For Americans these buildings flex our muscles and show
our might. However, many of these skyscrapers hold great function for American society within
their walls. Some of these buildings are much more than just a big playground or strength prop,
none more so than the World Trade Center in New York City. These towers were the places where
50,000 Americans and foreign nationals came to work each day. This made it an ideal target for the
terrorists, because they destroyed a symbol of American work ethic and pride and murdered
thousands with an unbelievably wicked one two punch. They also wanted to cut the throat of our
economy by instantly erasing 50,000 jobs and putting the American routine on hold indefinitely. The
trickle down affect has been overwhelming, bringing the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries to
their knees. The towers are gone forever, replaced with fear of the unknown and a state of paranoia

"This site contains blocked messages" these were the words spray painted on the back wall of a
chicken slaughterhouse. Looking at that this seemingly innocuous sentence it seems to convey the
simple message of how certain industries have been attempting to push the government to put more
restriction on what information people can share on the Internet. Not only that but pushing for an
increase in the censorship of certain websites and how they let there users interact. However, if one
really looks into the history of this message on the wall, they can see an interesting correlation as to
what occurred on the day it was painted. On the same day it was painted the New York Times had
denied a famous artist from publishing his article about his opinion on the history and design of a
memorial for an infamous event that occurred in New York, that event being the attack on the World
Trade center on September 11th, 2001. Now were these two seemingly separate events really
connected? Only a short time later the artist released the answer to this question, when the article
that had been previously denied by the New York Times, was mocked up by the artist and shared
with the world proving that the two events were connected. What could have caused the New York
Times to deny such an article and why did this artist feel the need to write it. In order to understand

Research Paper: 9/11
George W. Bush once said that "Our enemies have made the mistake that America's enemies always
make. They see liberty and think they saw weakness." 9/11 was a devastating day in American
history. Men, from the terrorist group Al Quada, attacked America on their own soil for the first time
since Japan attack us at Pearl Harbor. But there are some things we can isolate from it. The basic
overview of it. What were the terrorists doing to get ready for the day, and what was their major
purpose and intention. First off the basic overview of 9/11. The day is September 11, 2001. Just a
normal day to everyone. The world is at peace. 7:35: Atta and al–Omari board American Airlines
Flight 11. Five minutes later the rest of the Flight 11 hijackers board the airplane. 7:59: Flight 11,
carrying 81 passengers and 11 crew members, departs from Logan International Airport in Boston,
its destination being Los Angeles International Airport in Los Angeles, California. 8:14: Flight 11 is
hijacked when hijackers Waleed and Wail al–Shehri rise from seats 2A and 2B and stab two flight
attendants. Atta rises from seat 8D and approaches the cockpit. Within minutes, he is at the controls.
8:14, United Airlines Flight 175, carrying 56 passengers and nine crew members, also departs from
Logan International Airport in Boston; its destination was also Los Angeles International Airport.

some control in the development of the general public opinion, their convictions and attitudes in
addition to the relationship for social change. Crimes receive a large of scope in mass media, no
matter the difference what outlet is detailing it. Broad communications choose the occasions in
which they report, there are a few reports that impact the groups of onlookers' considerations in the
wrong way.
Recently, local police departments in the U.S have been under scrutiny. Media reports increase
identifying with police brutality, discrimination, and self–protection. There has been systematic
coverage of attacks and other violations. In these reports about the police and wrongdoings in the
media, it is not hard to conclude that crime is on the rise all around. The United States feels like it is
no longer a protected place where youngsters can play in the front yard without hazards. The media
provides an awesome source of information. In any case, it is basic to perceive that it has some level
of control over our recognitions and we should search for actualities before making a speedy

National Geographic Provides Multiple Accounts Of Filmmakers
National Geographic provides multiple accounts of filmmakers who filmed what was going in
Manhattan on September11th. Allison Thompson was an accountant turned film director. The
morning of Thompson saw the first plane crash into the North tower on TV and knew immediately
that she had to go down there. Thompson lived on the Upper East Side, and decided she would roller
blade the eight miles to round zero. All she had with her was her camera and a medical bag filled
with supplies. Cynthia Malleran was a photographer that captured the daily view outside her
apartment overlooking the Twin Towers for about three years. Malleran described how she heard a
loud boom and she went to her window and saw a long cloud of dark smoke. Once she saw this she
picked up her camera and started to film. Star Reese did the same except she went on to the roof and
started filming. The main thing that struck Reese was seeing people fall from the building. It was
nothing like she had filmed before, she was familiar with filming the movements of the body, but
not familiar with filming someone killing themselves. Another thing Reese filmed was the inside of
her apartment after the towers had fallen. This was significant to see because her apartment was
close to the building that the windows were broken and there was dust everywhere. Ted Schilowsky,
a Polish filmmaker who was fascinated with the New York skyline and actually captured footage of
the moon in between the North and South tower of the

What Were The Causes And Effects Of 9/11
On September 11, 2001, at 8:45 a.m. on a sunny Tuesday morning, a 767, American Airlines Flight
11, loaded with 20,000 gallons of jet fuel crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center in
New York City, near the 80th floor of the 110–story skyscraper. Instantly killing hundreds of people.
Media streamed it as a freak accident. Then, 18 minutes after the first plane hit, a second 767,
United Airlines Flight 175, sliced into the south tower near the 60th floor. The collision caused an
explosion that showered burning debris over surrounding buildings and the streets below. America
was under attack. However, the attacks performed on September 11, 2001 were not committed by
Al–Qaeda but a conspiracy performed by the United States. The core of the World Trade Center
towers exhibited steel beams that stood the full length of the towers. The buildings were each

initiatives to combat terrorism and defining the presidency of George W. Bush. Nearly 3,000 people
were killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C. The reason why the
government would perform such horrible attacks on their own soil is unknown. Some concluded that
the attacks were conspired by the United States government to be able to invade Iraq, which just so
happens to be enriched with petroleum (McCaffrey, 2016, p. 1). Others say the government
conspired the attacks to entice a war. However, the actual reason behind the attacks is not known,
but the attacks performed on September 11, 2001, were not solely performed by Osama Bin Laden
and other Islamic terrorists. The mysterious rapid findings of the September 11th attacks, the way
the towers collapsed, and the strange Pentagon crash further prove the conspiracy theories behind
the attacks. Regardless of who performed the attacks, the lives of the 2,977 victims will never be

The collision left a giant opening close to the eightieth floor of the one hundred ten story skyscraper, abruptly ending hundreds of people's lives and trapping hundreds more in the floors above. As the evacuation of the tower and its twin– the South Tower– got underway by the local authorities, television news channels broadcasted live images of what at first appeared to be a freak accident. They were allegedly responding in vengeance for the United States of America's support of Israel, its sustained military occupancy of the Middle East, and its engagement in the Persian Gulf War. Several of the terrorists had resided in the United States of America for approximately a year and had attended the American commercial flight schools to learn how to fly a plane. Others had smuggled themselves into the country months prior to the September 11 attacks and helped carry out the operation. The nineteen radical Islamic terrorists effortlessly slipped knives and box–cutters straight past security at three different airports on the East Coast and boarded four flights bound for California. These flights were selected for the reason that the aircrafts were weighted with fuel for the long journey across the country. Shortly after the planes took off, the terrorists hijacked the four planes and made their way to the cockpit to control them. This transformed typical commuter airplanes into deadly guided missiles. On that warm morning in down town Manhattan became the last day for many people. People were living and enjoying life without a care, then it struck. The first Boeing 767 struck then countless minutes passed, then the second Boeing 767 struck. Everyone says people come together after an incident. Honestly, I believe us Americans have gone a long way. That was a little over 16 years ago, not much has changed. The United States of America is holding great suffering with everything that has been happening. We can go off and talk about how all these other attacks are related to one another, but we will stick with some 9/11 theories. Everyone knows that Osama bin Laden part of 9/11. Not everyone knows that some other people were involved. The buildings were shut down the weekend before the attack. With all the information I can find online and know about this attack personally will be used. We will cover how exactly 9/11 was an inside job, those builds were rigged with explosives. The planes that struck were not just "random" planes. They had the perfect flight paths. • 17. The World Trade Center Building It was a normal, September morning for Roz and her daughter, Amanda. She dropped her off at her school and rode the subway to get to her job at the first World Trade Center building. After a few minutes of entering the building, arriving at the 88th floor, and engaging in light small talk with a coworker, an explosion occurred that shook the whole building. Dazed and confused, Roz and her coworkers stood in confusion wondering what happened. It wasn't until they saw one of their team members badly burned from head to toe that they realized that what had happened. Frantically, they ran towards a stairwell and descended down 80+ flights of stairs to the safety of the firefighter and police filled lobby. At a point of desperation and exhaustion, Roz was lucky to find a ride to her daughter's school where family members were already there waiting to hear a call of good news (A Survivor's Story). Stories like these are a dime a dozen, although many were not as lucky as Roz. The attack on September 11th, 2001 forever changed the lives of many and the consequences had a radical effect on all aspects of life including politics, health, and discrimination acts. • 21. The Effects Of 9/11 When someone hears the word tragedy, many different words may come to mind. A tragedy is an event that occurs that brings great destruction and despair to everything it affects. 9/11, or September 11, was completely unexpected and devastating to the entire United States, and even to many other countries around the world. 2,753 people have now perished thanks to this horrific occurrence, varying from two years old to 85 (cnn.com, 2015). Clean–up afterwords cost nearly 750 million dollars, and much more economic costs were spent by the United States(cnn.com, 2015). But, years later, it still makes a big impact on our decisions as a nation, just as it did when 9/11 first happened. Long–terms effects of 9/11 include the way airports and planes are handled, the way American muslims are looked at, and how tourism and travel have changed. September 11th, 2001 started out as a normal day for countless civilians. But it didn't stay this way for long. However, over a period of nearly seven months, starting at Baltimore–Washington International Airport on April 30, 2002, and concluding on November 19, 2002, TSA employees began to conduct passenger–screening operations at all U.S. commercial airports.2 TSA made three important changes to improve the efficiency of security screening operations. First, TSA increased staffing to help reduce waiting time in security lines. Prior to 9/11, there were about 16,200 private security screeners employed at U.S. airports, nearly all of whom were screening passengers. By the end of 2002, TSA had hired 56,000 screeners for both passenger and baggage screening (TSA, 2002). Second, TSA increased the compensation of screeners, offering higher wages and better benefits. Perhaps as a result, turnover among security screeners plummeted (General Accounting Office 2003). Third, TSA increased training for screeners. For example, prior to 9/11, x–ray machine operators at private security firms averaged about twelve hours of training (Seidenstat, 2004), while TSA requires more than a hundred hours of training for all its passenger and baggage screeners (General Accounting Office ... Unfortunately, none of the passengers knew it would be their last flight or even their last day living. We can build giant stadiums such as The Raven's PSI Net in Baltimore for nothing more than a game. For Americans these buildings flex our muscles and show our might. However, many of these skyscrapers hold great function for American society within their walls. Some of these buildings are much more than just a big playground or strength prop, none more so than the World Trade Center in New York City. These towers were the places where 50,000 Americans and foreign nationals came to work each day. This made it an ideal target for the terrorists, because they destroyed a symbol of American work ethic and pride and murdered thousands with an unbelievably wicked one two punch. They also wanted to cut the throat of our economy by instantly erasing 50,000 jobs and putting the American routine on hold indefinitely. The trickle down affect has been overwhelming, bringing the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries to their knees. Looking at that this seemingly innocuous sentence it seems to convey the simple message of how certain industries have been attempting to push the government to put more restriction on what information people can share on the Internet. Not only that but pushing for an increase in the censorship of certain websites and how they let there users interact. However, if one really looks into the history of this message on the wall, they can see an interesting correlation as to what occurred on the day it was painted. Now were these two seemingly separate events really connected? Only a short time later the artist released the answer to this question, when the article that had been previously denied by the New York Times, was mocked up by the artist and shared with the world proving that the two events were connected. Allison Thompson was an accountant turned film director. The morning of Thompson saw the first plane crash into the North tower on TV and knew immediately that she had to go down there. Star Reese did the same except she went on to the roof and started filming. The main thing that struck Reese was seeing people fall from the building. It was nothing like she had filmed before, she was familiar with filming the movements of the body, but not familiar with filming someone killing themselves. Another thing Reese filmed was the inside of her apartment after the towers had fallen.
