This document discusses the objectives of a project to study, design, and develop an electronic control unit (ECU) to govern internal combustion engines for small-cylinder motorcycles. The ECU will control injection time, ignition timing, and spark plug actuation based on sensor values. Sensors will be studied and placed strategically in the engine. A microcontroller will be used to control the sensors and allow the ECU to precisely control injection times and ignition based on real-time sensor data. Software will also be developed to allow users to check sensor values via a serial port for troubleshooting. The goal is to facilitate market implementation by reducing emissions through more precise electronic engine control.
