Mason Ulife Office of Technology Integration Strategically Poised for Succes and Innovation
Increasing Campus Engagement with Web 2.0 Sarah “Intellagirl” Robbins October 2008
Strategic Plan USE EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES:   Provide electronic options for delivery of University Life services in order to enhance communication between students and staff, increase the use of resources by traditional, non-traditional, and students at a distance in order to transcend time/place barriers. Build "virtual" and offline community through web based interaction and collaboration to increase a feeling of connectedness and student engagement with University Life programs, services, outreach efforts, as well as with the larger university. ADVANCE OUTREACH:  Improve public outreach and Mason community access to University Life services and events through websites, social media tools, brand consistency, technological innovation and use of media archives to connect with Mason online, enhance the university image and contribute to recruitment and retention efforts. DEVELOPMENT: Insure that University Life Staff remain current and informed about recommended emerging technologies and the convergence of media through division staff training and culture shift, provide learning opportunities for students allied with the division, and support department staff research and implementation.

Editor's Notes

  • #2 MICHEAL Good morning friends, We want to thank you for allowing us this time to tell you what your ULife Office of Technology Integration is up to.   People are communicating to each other in a multitude of new ways at an increasing rate. We could distance ourselves from this notion; we could deny it meaning/power we could spend precious time while we waited on a future status quo.whatever we do, they're not going to stop.
