the lab studio needs to evolve
and needs to be extendable.



The kit must not become obsolete
when the components are all used up
but must be refilled.

Getting more familiar with sensors and electronics.
Coding (arduino?)
Research Avenues

• What constitutes real learning? How does DIY
learning facilitate real learning
• How have creative teachers, artists and scientists
in the past broken disciplinary barriers?
• How can we apply the principles of games design
that will make children engage with DIY labstudio
on a long term basis?
• What are the specific concepts and topics which
lend themselves to this approach of DIY learning
and translate into a practical DIY mobile kit?

We want to incorporate based on direct
interaction with students, teacher adult and
design fully understanding the needs of the user.

We as designers, are working in a team in which
we each have unique roles within the project that
contribute to the making of this one product - The
