Our Semi Automatic Polarimeter can be used in the chemical industry, hospitals, colleges, and universities
and scientific research in situations, for measuring the organic substances with optical rotation. With the aid of
the Semi Automatic Polarimeter, the specific gravity, purity, focus & content of active materials (such as sugar
solution, turpentine oil & camphor) can be measured. For example, in the food industry, it can be used to
inspect the sugar content and measure the sugar content of
food flavorings, in the clinic or hospital, it can be used to
measure the sugar content and protein in urine. In the sugar
refinery, it can be used to inspect the concentration of the
sugar solution in industrial processes.
Polarizing filters are used for the polarizer and analyzer. The
polarizer is fitted with a thin two piece quartz disc which
produces a divided field of view, the half shadow angle of
which is depended on the light source being used. With a
sodium lamp (wavelength 589 nm) it is 8 degs. and with
mercury lamp (wavelength 546 nm) it is 9.5 degs. Our disc
Semi Automatic Polarimeter can be used with a halogen lamp and
interference filter to define the wavelength or with a spectral lamp (sodium, mercury etc.). Moreover the
instrument is cost effective and extremely portable.
