Love Yourself to better Your
Self-Esteem
–Richard Paul Evans, The Mistletoe Promise
“The Golden Rule is a two-edged sword. If some of
us treated others as we treat ourselves, we would be
jailed.”
Self-worth depends on how much you feel you are worth,
and how much you feel other people appreciate you.
It's important to have a healthy self-esteem, because when
you feel good about yourself, it will also have a good effect
on your mental health and behavior.
There is a big difference
between being selfish, or
arrogant, and self-love.
Self-love means caring
about oneself.
Being confident, and taking responsibility for
oneself, with all of our imperfections, flaws, and
rejections.
To put it in other words, self-love means to be
respecting yourself, knowing who you are, and
having high self-esteem.
You CAN learn to love
yourself completely. In
fact, it is not even
difficult to do.
5 Steps to Self-love
1. Forgive. Forget about past
mistakes
What can I not forgive myself?
If you have the answer, you will
know who or what is keeping
you captive in a prison of
hatred and fear.
2. Be good to yourself
If there is no love for yourself,
you are like an empty teapot. If
it is empty, you have no tea to
fill all the cups on the table!
Start by doing good to yourself
again, and it will be easier to
show love to the people around
you.
3. Take back power over
your life.
Drop the victim mentality!
No more blaming others or
your circumstances.
Be in control of your own
choices, successes, and your
life.
4. Act on what you need rather than
what you want.
Few people are happy with
what they have, constantly
yearning for more.
If your happiness lies in your
possessions, you will never
have enough. It's a clear sign
that you rely too much on
material things.
5. Commit to love yourself and take
action towards personal growth.
Make loving yourself the
number-one step from which
you will be taking on every day.
Adopt a personal growth
mindset and take on new
challenges & opportunities for
fun and learning.
“If you do not respect your own wishes,
no one else will. You will simply attract
people who disrespect you as much as
you do.”
- Vironika Tugaleva
Each person is
unique and
powerful in their
own way.
